Wild! "THE FUTURE IS NOW".... I can't imagine walking down the street on a beautiful evening with my girlfriend being stalked by an arm drone.

LOL, wait until some "drone operator" goes after an ex-girlfriend or ex-wife's new boyfriend.

Hasn't US used drones in other countries for strikes that have killed innocent people.

Perhaps its time for a poem

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

That's the thing, isn't it?

It's not the tech., it's the operator.

Wasn't there a scene in Blue Thunder where the helicopter is hovering outside an apt. while it's owners are doin' the deed, and they're watching?

Creepy doesn't even begin to describe the uses of drones in civil surveillance. I have big issue with this.

Ohh bull-crap. This will never go through.

The FAA is the legal entity that regulates NAS and it's clearly stated that no public or citizen aircraft can eject an object while operated in the air except for certain special exemptions (like a tow plane).

ND can pass that law but they can't operate it legally under federal law. Like in California with that BS bill 142 the states have no authority over national airspace.

Act Now to Veto SB 142

The California State Legislature recently passed an overreaching bill, Senate Bill 142, which would severely limit the ability of consumer and commercial drones to take flight in the state. The legislation is the wrong approach for California and the flourishing technology industry. Please urge Governor Jerry Brown to veto SB 142 by taking action below.

The NTOA, representing more than 1,500 SWAT teams across the United States, making up some 40,000 law-enforcement officials, fired an initial salvo by sending emails to all 535 congressional offices, arguing for the necessity of the program. Its goal, along with other associations representing the law-enforcement community, was to kill any hope of ending or substantially weakening the Pentagon’s 1033 equipment-transfer program.

Seems like an extremely inefficient way to achieve their purpose. The quad copter got to get close, real close and then it is still hard to hit anything moving.

I read the article and the bill, I see that the bill could be challenged in a higher court base on citizens constitutional rights.

I am sure that we may hear about this issue more in the future.

I also see how "pro drones lobbyist" backed by big oil companies money with interest in the drone industry in the state are the ones probably behind the funding.

my prediction
I give it 12 months before the roll-out to fully lethal drones - capable of extinguishing citizens with extreme prejudice.

lobbynomics at work again - lucky the citizens / taxpayers get a say in these sorts of "upgrades" /sarc.

Welcome to the New World Order, where weaponized drones are here to protect you and stop crime before you can think it.

And Windows 10 is here to guide you through how to "retrain yourself".

The updates that come out, I feel within 6 months Win 10 will be far superior than it is now, they have not "released: everything of it yet.

Looking forward to the next year FINALLY some interesting things in the news.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, nut whatever. I see three very seperate things that will converge. This is one and it will expand to other police nation wide and expand to include deadly force. The way it's going and I believe this is the end goal is the nationalization of the police forces throughout America. And in the ndaa. Now if the thought of these three things coming together doesn't concern you have fun. I don't care what your political views are, this leads nowhere good and it won't matter who is in office or what letter is behind their name. it will continue to progress. Is everyone so sure they are contrentrating on the real problems in this country?

Hobby EWACS and SAM's will grow up as a deterrent cottage industry. Like radar detectors did 30 years ago up until recently.
Rather scary.
