I mentioned in a previous post that this would happen soon though I expect "lethal weapons" to be next and in short order. See, it is so less personal if someone is killed or tazed by a drone instead of a person on recordings. Also so many ways to excuse "oops didn't mean to kill him, malfunction, pilot error, my bad, suspend me" attitude.

Anyone want to place bets that they will soon classify these as they do Police K-9s? (Assaulting a drone will be "assault on an officer" and disabling one... well, you get the idea.

First State Legalizes Taser Drones for Cops, Thanks to a Lobbyist

North Dakota police will be free to fire ‘less than lethal’ weapons from the air thanks to the influence of Big Drone.

It is now legal for law enforcement in North Dakota to fly drones armed with everything from Tasers to tear gas thanks to a last-minute push by a pro-police lobbyist.

With all the concern over the militarization of police in the past year, no one noticed that the state became the first in the union to allow police to equip drones with “less than lethal” weapons. House Bill 1328 wasn’t drafted that way, but then a lobbyist representing law enforcement—tight with a booming drone industry—got his hands on it.

The bill’s stated intent was to require police to obtain a search warrant from a judge in order to use a drone to search for criminal evidence. In fact, the original draft of Representative Rick Becker’s bill would have banned all weapons on police drones.

Then Bruce Burkett of the North Dakota Peace Officer’s Association was allowed by the state house committee to amend HB 1328 and limit the prohibition only to lethal weapons. “Less than lethal” weapons like rubber bullets, pepper spray, tear gas, sound cannons, and Tasers are therefore permitted on police drones.

Citizen, you have nothing to fear. Stop resisting, citizen. Citizen, moving away is resistance. Lethal force is authorized, citizen.

If you shoot one down, will you be considered a cop-killer? Will knocking one out of the sky be assaulting an officer?

South Park did a drone episode (last year I think); when life starts imitating art satirizing life it's time for a hard reset.

Someone immune to "personal liability" most probably.

my prediction
I give it 12 months before the roll-out to fully lethal drones - capable of extinguishing citizens with extreme prejudice.

lobbynomics at work again - lucky the citizens / taxpayers get a say in these sorts of "upgrades" /sarc.

Welcome to the New World Order, where weaponized drones are here to protect you and stop crime before you can think it.

I'll interject here the question as to who exactly 'they' are.
Because 'they' will certainly be behind this one, and will be referred to frequently.

God bless Amerika
They never had it so good!

Well that's a relief. I was a little worried to travel to North Dakota in fear of getting raped by a cow. This should, if nothing else, make them think twice.

Oh, yippy. I can't see how this could possible go wrong.

Let's take this a step further. Let's arm them with lethal projectiles (wouldn't want anyone getting away) and make them fully automated (computer controlled). That way there's no pilot error. There's no possible way an accident could happen. I was being sarcastic, by the way.

We have been warning people for decades this would happen with those Nazi police drones..... now it has happened!

It's all down hill from this point on.....

Figures that a smaller population and more remote state of North Dakota is just a test for other areas. Especially if it's allowed to persist. Any members living there as I know there's a few at least. Wonder if more can be weighed in on it.

And there are people wanting to restrict gun ownership.

About the only weapon we have against rogue drones.
