Two journalists killed in shooting during live newscast at Smith Mountain Lake

Just saw this and I have to say, that video was chilling to the bone.

Also just read a post saying the suspect is heading towards northern VA. I hope they catch him soon.

My heart goes out the injured and families of those killed.

Very sad.

I've been there a thousand times at least. Days and nights have been spent fishing and boating on Smith Mountain Lake. I would have never guessed something like this would occur in such a small community as we have here. I live right down the way.

They are still looking for the shooter even now. The local news is streaming live now as the news station is discussing it.

Come to find out the reporter and the cameraman were engaged. They were together.

Sad for the families. Sad for this community.

It's crazy isn't it? I have family that have a summer home down there. Never would imagine something like this happening in a place like that.

Not the chase and helicopter footage, the shootout, the body on a gurney, you can believe all that (it happened live, too).

Yes, from what is being reported on CBC, the lady being interviewed was a member of the local chamber of commerce.

Suspects vehicle found at Roanoke airport.

No - the shooter is believed to be Vester Lee Flanagan a former employee - that photo is unrelated and is of a Jeffrey Hurant who was arrested Tuesday and is the CEO of Rentboy.com or whatever that male escort website was

VSP says they are NOT engaged in pursuit of the suspect but are now searching for him. There's also at least one LE helo up. Saw something for a news helo up as well with a feed, trying to find it.

For the record... They are still showing the complete video on the news now along with the stills of the shooter. So pulling the video from being shown is simply not happening.
