How don't you people get this. These are criminals that entered our country illegally. They have to go...or be arrested and locked up...or sent home. This isn't politics or extreme...this is the law.

How about this: Implant explosives in the base of their skulls. Men, women, and children. All of them. Gather them up and send them back across the border. Set detonators along the border. Have the detonators set up so that if they come within 50 yards of them:BOOM. End of problem.

No, I'm not serious. I'd hate for anyone to take that seriously. The above illustrates the extremes I've seen people's opinions go to when it comes to illegal immigration.

I do not want you to mistake me for agreeing with that however I'm pretty sure that would be very effective. So my point is in the form of a question. What is the middle ground solution that is humanitarian, effective in results and cost and most importantly widely acceptable in public opinion? What can we all agree on that will actually work to help stop this growing epidemic?

Natural born citizens of the USA should have no more bennies than an immigrant coming to this country looking for a better life.

Yes, we should send the criminals back without hesiration. I am not talking about someone who is selling a silly dime bag. They dont call it that anymore, especially in the likes of Colorado.

But send us your tired, poor, huddled masses. We should accept them with open arms and welcome them. Kinda like most all of our reletives.

It is kind of lame to suggest our exclusive club should only enjoy the freedom our forefathers gave us.

There are far too many loafers in our society soaking up benefits because they dont want to work, to suggest that it is only illegals wasting our system. Far too many.

Which involves offering significantly more work visas per year, something politicians are reluctant to do for a few reasons. First you have the faction that says we're dumbing down America by importing all of these low skilled workers that are extremely unlikely to rise up, so we're reducing the quality of the average American. Then you have the people in the stores who are going to balk at prices... if these people are legal we need to pay them a legal wage, doing so essentially doubles the labor cost on farms which translates into a 30-40% cost increase of food, which brings with it a whole series of other debates such as wage inequality in order to afford that food.

Making them legal doesn't solve the problem and keeping them out doesn't solve the problem either. What are we supposed to do? I'm honestly asking here, it's not a rhetorical question. There are no easy solutions here, and the few that there are there is no political will to carry out.

So you end up in prison and while there you're forced to work off a debt, that we find ways to constantly increase?

That's fine and all, but slavery isn't and should never be the law. Deporting people and enslaving them are two entirely different responses. Illegals are still humans, and I'd like to maintain my humanity as well.

How unfortunate that in 2015, and as the world looks unto countries like united states of America, there are still people like mr Mickelson host of a breakfast show making such reckless statements. He is actually defending this jargon as legal but has this person seen the fundamental human rights charter? Opinions are good for an healthy democracy, however, one must always apply caution and care for what we say to the general public. He looks to me as someone seeking popularity. People are in prison for any number of crimes, many non-violent.
I think they should be kept separated from the violent offenders.
Yes, they should do work - work that is for the public good - like picking up trash, public infrastructure etc.
Just not doing it for any corporate profit motive.

My opinion is this. Those that feel as reflected by my quoted post, demonstrate the roots of racism.

I can name hundreds of examples of why this is wrong.

More honerably noteworthy, are the illegals who joined our military and fought for our country, solely to become a naturalized citizen.

That is the best example of rising up. Many more in lower roles. "Lower" not meaning lesser individuals.

But doing anything illegally won't fix it either. However, turning a blind eye to those who are here illegally, also go on public assistance...so that min wage (or below) is actually quite a bit higher - seeing as they are taking from a system and not really putting back into it.

I Agree, there is no quick/easy fix. Politicians rarely fix anything, they play a game of 'kick it down the road' - until they are out of office and then it's someone else's problem to deal with. The problem now is, many things are coming to a head, and we the American people are the ones left to fix it - since our politicians clearly have little to no motivation to uphold their oaths of office, much less actually work on a solution for any of the issues we're facing.

Just as an update. Ted Cruz did this man's radio show, after the slavery remarks had been made.

While I prefer to use sources that don't have a dominant political bent, none of those seem to be wont to mention this issue, so this will have to do.

What's funny is that this conservative doesn't realize he's already a slave.

Yeah, I was talking to a friend about what you said, today. If there was any conspiracy to erode the 4th, 8th and 13th Amendments, I think it would have been over Muslim terrorists. But if a similar idea was ever tabled for the same purpose concerning Illegal Immigrants as a Plan B, I think that they would be surprised at how successful this is. I mean, imagine all of these Conservatives who are willing to simply trash the US Constitution just over Illegal Immigrants. They act like this is a bigger national security threat than 9/11 or Pearl Harbor. I guess nobody ever asked the question, "Isn't this what the Third Reich did?"
