My first Bernie thread, about time I guess.

This man has been getting my attention more and more. He plans to introduce legislation to abolish private prisons as soon as Congress reconvenes. This guy isn't promising to do this if you elect him, he's doing it next month! You know, this is politics and chances are you aren't gonna agree with everything one politician stands for but despite any faults Sanders has I find myself agreeing with him more and more. It's upsetting so many people are becoming obsessed with Trump when Sanders is the one looking to create real progress. I don't care if he's a self described socialist, I like him.

Come the 2016 elections I'm voting for Bernie.

You are witnessing the true substance behind the socialist ideology. It's not a push to create a Stalin or Mao-like state. It's about the people and what is best for society as a whole, not just the privileged and wealthy.

I'm actually hesitant on Sanders Because he is not socialist enough for me, but it appears he may be the best option to combat the insanity we experience in the American political landscape today.

We shall see.

Well you may as well vote for him because there's no other candidate that remotely comes close to what you're looking for.

We've been fed pure garbage election cycle after election cycle. I say it's time to try something new and see what happens because the same old same old politician funded by Big Everything hasn't helped America get on the right path. It's only help Big Everything's bottom line.

I'm sure you noticed the main point that needs to be addressed in the video. If we need more prisoners, where do they come from?

Illegal immigrants!

Isn't that convenient?

And who better to go after them if elected? Right now, that man is Trump...

Not socialist enough? Just how socialist do you want to get? China?

Besides that fact, it might not be Bernie you have to worry about once the Socialist system is set up, but just remember your subject to the whims of those that come after.

That should be the real worry

It's nice to know that 25 million in US tax payer money went to lobby for private prisons. I simply don't understand the level of corruption in this country at times.

I agree, but I have no faith that the Democrats will let Sanders represent them as they are in the pockets of big business as well.

For Sanders to be elected it takes a huge grass roots movements that this nation has never seen.

Can we actually do that?

Ron Paul was shot down. The TP was shot down.

I have little faith.

Your first thread is a good one.

Private, for profit prisons should all be shut down immediately.

They're nothing more than corporate welfare for the large companies that build them, and judges are paid off to ensure that anyone that ends up in one of these places stays there.

Socialism doesn't work, it has been tried and failed miserably every single time.

The only times it hasn't failed are not true socialism.

They are Sudo socialism at best.

Obviously you know nothing about China. They are capitalist baby. You think the sweat shops benefit the collective? They are capitalist and the only thing communist is the party that pretends to be in charge.

Good news is, Sanders refuses to take any campaign donations from Big Anything. He only takes donations from the people. The grassroots movement has been underway for him already and he's doing just great.

Do you really believe if Sanders makes his way to the Oval Office he will turn America into a socialist nation? We already have socialist programs that have been around forever now. If this man gets in he's work will be for the people, not Big Biz.

(btw, off topic, John Wick 2 is in the works!)

And many just dish out harsh sentences for a bigger kickback.

For profit prisons should be illegal.

I'm annoyed Jesse Ventura would even consider siding with Trump while completely ignoring Sanders. I love Jesse, but...

They don't pretend, they are, and will kill as many as they have to as often as they have to stay in charge.

They act like every other communist regime.

They are exactly like north Korea, but with resources and leverage on the world stage.

Only recently have they gone capitalist, that is why they are no longer the sick man of Asia.

Tienam square was in my youth, I saw exactly how a communist government deals with its people.

No thanks

Rofl. Nope.

But you would say that wouldn't you, given your political leanings.

I know, love that movie.

He was like Chuck Norris wearing black. My brother thinks denzel in his new movie would take him, we still argue about that over some beers.

On topic, no but I do think he will do some short term good, that will have long reaching negative effects.

Just like social security.

The first in got a handout, the last in will get screwed, just like my generation.

We pay in our entire lives, but it is not going to be there when I retire.

The boomers are going to suck it dry and leave us out in the cold.
