I'm asking you because you inquired as to whether we "need" planned parenthood. Given that the defunding of PP would cause a HUGE jump in people being born into the welfare system, it seems a relevant question to ask. The way I see it, taking this increase into consideration, yes, we definitely NEED PP.

How many times does it have to be said that abortion is only a very small part of what PP does?
The other health clinics are a lot smaller than PP - they have a hard time seeing the number of patients they have as it is. PP is much larger, has more staff, and can take more patients. Defunding them totally WILL make a difference - and not for the better.

yep, and hopefully if they really want a pap smear, well, they will get one elsewhere, heck they might have to walk into the next town, but if they really want it, they'll make the walk!! after all we all must conform to their moral standards.....even if it means that women end up dying because they are being denied or blocked from services....
this coming from someone in a country, where all the people get whatever healthcare they need, no insurance hassles, no high premiums, no office visit fees to worry about....
just pay a portion of your income, and it's all given to you free of charge.......
its not free if my wage is garnished each week is it?

And we keep telling you that no PP clinic in the country receives funding for abortions (except in extreme cases). So defunding PP because of abortion issues is the wrong punishment. It will only hurt the OTHER services that PP provides. Why is this so hard for you to understand and accept?
The Indiana Department of Health said in a statement Thursday that an investigation found no evidence of any laws being broken. Health department inspectors investigated the Indiana facilities on July 21.

well let's see, when I was working, after I had hurt my foot and was struggling to get the medical care I need, or even a diagnosis....
the state and local gov'ts were raising taxes and different fees so often it made my head ache....everytime, the reason given was they had to fund MEDICAID...
meanwhile, the federal gov't and state had their income taxes, and part of them was going to fund, WELFARE, MEDICARE, MEDICAID, CHIPS, grants for drug reasearch, grant for hospitals, grants for training medical staffs, grants for cancer research, and on and on.....
so, well, I'll tell ya what, I'd take you one time tax and get everything over my get taxed to oblivion and get nothing anyday of the week!!
