Bernie needs to educate himself on firearms!

In a recent episode of NBC’s Meet the Press, 2016 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said that all guns not used specifically for hunting need to be banned.

“Nobody should have a gun who has a criminal background, who’s involved in domestic abuse situations. People should not have guns who are going to hurt other people, who are unstable. And second of all I believe that we need to make sure that certain types of guns used to kill people, exclusively, not for hunting, they should not be sold in the United States of America, and we have a huge loophole now with gun shows that should be eliminated.”

I know the source is "right wing", but the interview was on NBC. How do you pro Sanders folks feel about his thoughts?

Personally, I think it will hurt him, as there are firearm enthusiasts on all sides of the political spectrum.

I wont vote for him. I'm not a fan of Socialism, nor his thoughts on firearms. As a sport shooter and hunter, I want my boomsticks left alone!

I love how politicians know what's best for me. You can't have my guns Bernie.

I read a couple of weeks ago that he said that he didn't want to ban guns used for hunting, but then he said that semiautomatic weapons should be banned.
Like you said in the title, Bernie needs an education, not only about guns, but hunting. Plenty of state allow hunting with semiautomatic rifles and shotguns.

It doesn't matter. It's too late. There are too many guns already in the hands of the citizens. Try taking people's guns away and see what happens. It would be catastrophic.

Isn't what Bernie said at all. I have a problem with your source, especially since they didn't even chop up the quote mine that they are attempting here. The full quote is actually IN the article and anyone with 2 eyes and a brain can see that the title of the article doesn't match what he said.

This article is clickbait nonsense. Bernie said the same thing about guns that most left wing politicians say about them. More background checks so that there can be less access of guns to criminals. I don't necessarily agree with it in full, but damn at least be honest about what the man is saying. If the interview was made on NBC, WHY didn't you post an NBC article about it?

I love how people can obsess over a single issue to the point where they'd pick a clearly worse candidate because of it. Even if the candidate who disagrees with them on this one pet issue is in line with them in all other ways, or is clearly more legitimate or less a liar than the one who holds up a sign saying I support your pet issue, while laughing his ass off you one issue morons were duped again.

Just sick of hearing "Bernie no like ma guns"

If that's all you got, then go home. It's only one issue, and anyone who cares about one issue above all else period is a joke.

The rest of his interview was about background checks that I agree with.

I use my AR15 for target practice EXCLUSIVEY, so yes I do know what it means. He call that an assault rifle.

Well Bernie is now off my radar. we have the right to bear arms for home protection and for hunting and sport, we have the duty to uphold this great country against tyrannical ruling forces who would otherwise seek to destroy her meeting force with force.

Why don't you take a look at his voting record on guns. He really isn't all that anti gun just not pro free for all.

He has voting against more regulations as well.

He didn't call anything an assault rifle actually. I mean are you looking to look at this situation HONESTLY or do you want to look at what is said through your bias that all Democrats hate guns? Because I mean I don't particularly like 2nd amendment restrictions either, but it's rather obvious that the OP's source quote mined Bernie to make him say something he didn't really say.

And that's your opinion. This one issue is a deal-breaker for me and many. I said this in another thread and I'll say it here. I do not agree with taking personal protection away from citizens. History has shown us that govts can turn corrupt(not only our own but others), and I certainly do not want to live in the country that is overrun by something that we can not defend against.

I don't live in a utopian world, do you?

More like Bernie needs to educate himself on the second Amendment. More people have guns for self protection than they do for hunting. Guess Bernie wants to see woman raped because they can't defend themselves due to him wanting to get ban guns that aren't used for hunting.

Yeah, I used to feel the same way about people who would select a candidate based on just their political party, or their stance on abortion, or gay marriage, or the color of a candidate's skin, etc.

Then I realized that I was a "one issue" type of voter, too. If a candidate isn't going to follow the Constitution, no vote from me.
