3% of all Planned Parenthood’s activities are abortions, and more than 90% of those are in the first trimester when it’s about size of a kidney bean, so they do see some pieces of fetal tissue. Which are just going to be thrown away in the garbage, but which the patient can instead choose to donate to important medical research.

This is more or less the exact train of thought I had when I heard about the first video being released. Moreover, the anti-choice side of the argument is going back to their roots using the 'ick factor.' I'm sure you've seen them, the protest signs with what appear to be aborted fetuses. Now they've come to the digital age with video and well-edited commentary.

They're playing on the 'ick factor,' if you get squeamish at the sight of blood or the thought of medical procedures then you're the crowd they're looking for.

Then the law isn't the law?

Change it maybe?

Both sides of this "F'd" up fence are chock-block-a-full of misinformation, idiots and scaremongers.

If there *is* a side, it's 'slanted'.

Why isn't this all covered by Obamacare to begin with?

Why even have a "Planned parenthood" if everything they do is the same as Obamacare coverage?

This is one of the sickest videos I have ever seen.....
If people don't realize we have lost our moral compass from this video.....
Then there is something wrong with them.

Planned Parenthood needs to get out of the abortion business if they want to avoid criticism. Even if only 3% of what they do is murdering babies they are going to be called out...especially for selling human remains.

Right.

I'll be believing those perfect numbers all the way.

It's the corruption and lying that gives them away.

You sure you're pro-choice? Because suggesting providers cease...providing sure sounds like the opposite to me.

And idiots is a fairly apt way to put it. If you simply cannot use logic and separate "donation" from the knee-jerk reaction tantamount to "sell like it's wall street!" then you're the one with the problem, not women donating the remains in the first place. At least it's being put to good use in furthering research that can help others. Instead of, you know, rotting or being incinerated & thus being a complete & total waste entirely.

There's that "it" again. It's like that sociopath in the movie screaming, "It must put on its lotion" in preparation for some skin harvesting.

PP accepts different insurances. Someone with ACA insurance can go there.

Planned Parenthood Seeks Fed Study of Fetal Tissue Research

The group wrote that it has been "targeted" despite its "limited" role in fetal tissue research, a field it said is dominated by leading medical institutions and the NIH. The videos "clearly aim both to create revulsion at the process of collecting fetal tissue and to foment opposition to legal abortion and Planned Parenthood," the letter said.

Scientists have conducted fetal tissue research since the 1930s, and use the organs — from miscarriages and abortions — to seek treatment and cures for Alzheimer's, Down syndrome and other debilitating diseases. The National Institutes of Health spent $76 million on human fetal tissue research last year.

"It" is plenty adequate. It's dead at any rate, thus it's either going to be wasted in bio-hazard disposal, or used for betterment of treatments or cures through research. Human tissue kidney bean or not, that's the basic bottom line.

Would you be just as pissy if natural miscarriages were donated instead? I get the feeling it's the research in general that irks you, not the natural or forced abortion aspect.

7 Things Media Should Know About The Third Undercover Attempt To Smear Planned Parenthood

Anti-Choice Organization Releases New "Documentary" Alleging That Planned Parenthood Is Engaging In "Black Market In Baby Parts"

1. Lab Technician In Latest Video Admits Planned Parenthood Is Only Reimbursed For Actual Costs

2. Center for Medical Progress May Have Obtained The Footage Illegally

3. Procurement Companies Like StemExpress Act As "Middlemen," Reimbursing Abortion Providers For Donation Costs Before Reselling To Researchers At Higher Prices

4. Latest Video Cherry-Picks From Previous Deceptively-Edited Videos

5. Critical Republican Lawmakers Voted To Legalize Fetal Tissue Donations

6. It Is Legal To Accept Reimbursement For Fetal Tissue Donation To Offset "Reasonable Expenses"

7. Experts Agree "There's No Way There's A Profit" For Planned Parenthood

Take this wherever you wish.

Opposition Claims About Margaret Sanger

In my opinion, it is people of the same ilk as those releasing the deceptively edited videos

GOP leaders want women leading anti-Planned Parenthood efforts

The effort to put two women in front of the effort to defund Planned Parenthood could help Republican leaders fend off Democratic charges that they are playing fast and loose with women's health in order to placate their party's base.

Eyeroll.

Though this might help explain why the red herring of "my tax money shouldn't go to killing babies" keeps making it into the mix (posted in another thread as well).

Fox's Attempt To Smear Planned Parenthood With "Taxpayer Calculator" Doesn't Add Up

Finally, Fox's investigation of Planned Parenthood's revenue and the American taxpayer's contribution to that revenue provides no useful context for the viewer. In 2014, the federal government spent nearly 900 times more than Planned Parenthood collected from all government sources in 10 years; the $4.3 billion price tag Fox highlighted represents a miniscule portion of total government spending over the same period. Likewise, the 10-year burden shouldered by Fox's "average taxpayer" represents a tiny fraction of their total income over that period. According to Fox News, a taxpayer with earnings in excess of $2.5 million over a decade would contribute only about $40 annually. Meanwhile, the average taxpayer, with a median household income of roughly $52,000 per year, would contribute only about $1.50 per year to Planned Parenthood, according to Fox's own calculations.

And that $1.50? It's for ALL their services, of which abortion, IF they even in their imagination include it, at the higher of the 3%-5% estimates, comes out to .075 cents. Not even a penny.

Then we leave it to whom? PP funds the majority of small clinics that cater to low income people.
