Satan Statue to be unveiled in Detroit

To be fair there was a lot of outrage over the statue to begin with, it's not like everyone just flat out accepted it.

I just can't help but be worried about my future generations. Okay, I am what I thought was liberal but lately my liberalism is being tested.

I'm not criticizing you, it's just that I don't believe we have all accepted it, if we did there would be more than just this statue being made.

It is a statue, there are plenty like it in the Louvre however you don't see an uproar about that. Maybe if people didn't have all this virgin Mary (yeah right) statues and crucifixes plastered everywhere, people would not feel the need to retaliate.
Organized religion will create the devil out of their own ignorance.

I understand the moral majority is against the statue, my concern is how long will it take for a satanic temple to pop up in every city. Just think of all the taboos through out history that are now main stream.

Yeah, no kidding! It's almost like a book telling you that throwing rocks at people until they die is an act of love or something. Nobody's going to believe that something so wrong as being forced to marry your rapist is right, are they? So this statue is pure applesauce, I say! It's total jiggery-pokery!

Interesting take on my opinion. What I am trying to point out is what we were taught in Sunday school about 40 years ago is coming true. No I am not a religious zealous ;but as a child we attended church and they said the majority someday would worship Satan.

Sign me up! I am all for that one. Where is the line forming?

As far as I can tell the so called satanists have killed a few chickens(waaaay less than KFC) and maybe possibly killed a few people over the years. Compare that to how many people the organized religions of the world have killed and I would welcome a satanic church on every corner; lots less killing going on there.

Yep me too, that's when religion tries to get you, when your young and your head is soft. They know that if they wait until you are almost an adult and capable of thinking for yourself, you will never buy the silly nonsense they are selling.

But do you really think it will ever be a "majority"? Satanists having representation is something Christians should welcome, shouldn't they?

I mean, if we are all judged by our fruits and if the Satanic Church is truly evil, wouldn't their churches be the best way to dissuade Christians from converting? Seems like a win/win to me.

Yes I know they have been prophesying the end for years also. The reason I referenced 40 years ago is because the church of that time seemed simpler fundraisers for orphans and missionaries.... Not the Mega Church of today where the fund raisers are to line the preacher pocket

Thank you for the civil response. I would say that there is not too much to worry about. If you practice your faith and are correct, everything is fine and you are happy. If you practice your faith and are wrong, you lived a good life and end up the same place the rest of us are going. Either way, you sorta win.

I could be wrong but I think a majority of those that worship satan wouldn't subscribe to that being who they worship.

Well we do have freedom of religion in this country. Would the op prefer we have a nation that is ruled by just one religion and everyone that didn't follow that religion would be treated like second class citizens with no rights?
