I believe the extraterrestrials use the deep web. We are all aware of how they like to stay less noticed. Of course the government knows about them, just like every thing else there.

I2P is a good concept, with the whole exit node bullcrap vulnerability in Tor, buuuuut, as the age-old adage goes, you dont get security simply by using this or that, habits and operational methods count.

Even if you use Tails (like you are clearly doing on "your other laptop"), each task you perform should be followed by a complete reboot to clear cache etc (or if you use some other unix system and insist on non-live config, make the tmp folder execute on RAM)....its alot of hassle for really little security even then...i mean you cannot expect that running a software router/proxy/vpn/what have you, and then logging in to fb will keep you in any form or way under the radar.

Better just accelt that privacy is dead and figure out a non technical way of secure communications

People are diffrent you know , not everyone is the same as you.

That's not true. Everyone is a reflection of myself and you all exist within my visual cortex. I hope it's comfortable.

...the deep web is cool and worth checking out. Best to be mindful where you go and how you get there. Be not lured into temptation for it is great and likely not at all what you'd expect. There is probably more criminals and government snoops on there than an average citizen I'd reckon (maybe). It almost feels like going to a free STD clinic looking for a date. Just my two cents.

The deep web or dark web was the original web. What it was like in the beginning before all the layers to dumb it down, to protect, to make it easier to use or friendlier were added on top of it.

I didnt say you do or do not do that (log in to fb), just making an analogy by exaggeration.
Truth is, it really doesnt matter where in the world you are anymore, whether it is the us agencies or hacking team or evil black hats (even though im for privacy, i tried to break tor to unmask some nasty wastes of oxygen, but alas, im too preoccupied with my daily life nowadays to get up to speed on tech changes since i last hacked people, and eventually gave up), theyre all out there to get you, just by virtue of trying to fly under the radar.

Ok , so what i am trying to let u guys know about TOR just the concept of it , the dangers , people on there , all the info that is on there. Come on , what you think?

Well, you've done a lousy job.

Coming on here and suggesting people just sign up for some Tor/VPN service through google, then start surfing the dark web is incredibly naive.

Forget three letter agencies deciding to check in on whatever it is one is doing or accidentally stumbling upon something you shouldn't, which can easily happen on the dark web, you've neglected to inform everyone of one of the most serious risks.

Hackers.

Go on the dark web without the proper security, and some random Tor/VPN is not enough, you're an easy target to have your computer hacked into and even have things like say, child porn planted on it by hackers who do that crap for their own amusement. It's not some place you go without knowing what you're doing. You don't walk through South Central LA at night just because you want to peruse the area and see what the hype is about. Same thing with the dark web.

There's some interesting stuff out there. If you actually found something interesting, you might as well talk about that. Given you haven't, you don't really sound like you know what you're doing. Beyond the interesting, there's also a lot of misinformation on the dark web, various traps by law enforcement, ugly, ugly stuff like child porn you can accidentally stumble upon, and just finding sites themselves can be tricky enough as they obviously aren't listed as most website are through a search engine.

Dude, chill...i agree that the way the conversation is going, isnt productive, but instead of flaming, lets change that into more positive things:

What is it you wish to know?

People already know it exists. This isn't a new topic around here.

Others however at least did a far better job of explaining the risks. You're setting people up to approach it extremely casually, and that's when accidents happen. It's not a place for those who aren't computer savvy and experienced with protecting themselves.

Those who know enough to cover their behinds already know about it. Those who don't, the novices, you're doing a terrible job of educating.

This thread is far superior to anyone who's interested in learning about it.
