Bernie Segment

First Part

NY Times article

CNN Article

I included CNN/Times articles for some (alleged) "translations". Interesting difference between the two in what they include and leave out.

I'm deeply conflicted as to how I personally intepret this sequence of events, suffice it to say I am still working on it. I'll let some opinions and observations come in.

On a side note: A cursory search on Breitbart turned up nothing on this story.

...Do they also protest in the ghetto when it's black-on-black crime, or only when it's cop-on-criminal crime?

I hear that they do, have rallies and council meetings. I've never gone out of my way to search for proof of this, but I do have friends locally that are actively trying to do something. I suspect it's not click-baity enough to be worth mentioning.

I'm pretty sure I can be critical without being reprimanded, so long as I'm not an ass about it.

That usually is the real reason, being obnoxiously abrasive for the sake of provocation.

Yeah, not really. But I wish you were right. That isn't the reality around here lately.

Meanwhile...

Anything to offer on the subject at hand?

I'm guessing it's too odd an hour to get much nibbles, surely BLM + Bernie is enough to get people going...eventually.

Can you elaborate on how it's race baiting? Not trying to sound ignorant here, but I'm interested to hear your explanation. Perhaps my understanding of the term differs from yours.

Well let's see... How about we use the title of the OP as a platform here and break it down shall we?

"Black Lives Matter Protesters Interrupt Martin O'Malley/Bernie Sanders at Netroots Nation"

So "Black lives matter" protesters show up to interrupt O'Malley/Bernie, and this has NOTHING to due with race baiting? Can you really not see this??

OK, let's break it down further.

What does "Black lives matter" mean? Is this a statement toward ALL lives?? Wait, no. It seems this statement is soley regarding BLACK lives..But that's NOT racist unless it were "WHITE lives matter". They're both stupid, but what about ALL lives matter, but WHO is racist here, right?

Nevermind that.

This is Bernie freakin Sanders, a HUGE liberal influence yet, he is trolled by "BLACK lives matter!" protesters. Really?? Are people this dense??

There is no way I can point out this blatant "reverse" racism, hypocricy and downright BS being pushed by the crazy kooks in liberal media.

I did my best here. There's really nothing more I can say if you can't see this insanity.

What a pathetic and archaic way to try to get people to take you seriously....don't they see they feed stereotypes when they do things like this? And Bernie sanders is such an awesome guy. He actually is one of the good ones trying to help all races not just feed the flames like Obama. I wish I was there to shame these ignorant protesters. They're so stupid and ignorant they don't even see the good men fighting for them, just skin color. I really do despise this race crap. Stuff happened in the past we learned from it and fixed it so let's move on.

Spare us the sob story man. There are loads of liberal hate threads here without anyone getting so much as a harsh word about it.

But if you really believe it's so hard on conservatives around here having to hear some other opinion on things let me remind you nobody is demanding that you stick around. Feel free to exit any time you wish.

As for the topic I'd say it's pretty much expected that protestors will be protestors. I think demanding a more in depth answer to some of their questions was asking for a lot when you take people off guard and on the spot. But for the most part I'd say they both answered quite well in the situation. The fact that they booed even when getting an answer is rude but then again they are protesting stuff which means they are probably upset to begin with.

Like always Bernie I thought quite well and answered about the best anyone could expect. More importantly was they mentioned the fact that Hillary was a no show and people took notice. I would expect about the same from her as President as well. She'd rather be at the Big Table with her establishment friends than where the people are.

Hey Hillary, how are you going to represent The People when you don't even show up to find out what they want from you???

Does anyone protest crime based on race when its ones own people killing each other?

Please tell me where in the world people do that?

Oh wait you cant because no one on planet earth does that . . ..

Makes one wonder what is going through the minds of people.. . . . . .

Sob story? WTF are you TALKING about?? I'm sticking up for Bernie and I don't even support his socialist ass. He's being race baited and I'm CALLING it out.

What are YOU crying about, exactly?

I get what you're saying here, you're saying this was basically trolling to get a reaction out of white people.

I just can't help but feel like, if this were a Republican event and some TeaPartiers or something were demanding answers on what they planned to do about *insert super serious conservative pet cause here* it would be viewed as a step in the right direction by those equally concerned about said cause. It would be conversely criticized by opposing political members as frivolous and stupid.

or nah?

All that crap about "don't say anything about Liberals or you'll get banned". Have you seen the partisan fights that happen around here. They go all out and nobody get's in trouble unless it turns into personal attacks. But as far as hating one Libs or Cons the door seems wide open.

I know you were sticking up for Bernie and I agree with you that these protestors were being rude toward probably the one guy who is on their side. But if they are too ignorant to know that and know who they are booing then the joke is on them and they will only hurt themselves. Well, maybe the rest of us too I guess if they have that much influence on who get's elected.

I would also agree that the typical liberal media has once again played into the race bating to some degree. Rather than point out the folly of the protestors in booing the people who actually are trying to represent them, they played into it and made it seem almost as if Bernie and O'Malley did something wrong.

They tried answering the questions which obviously were never going to be good enough. They should have reported it for what it was, which was protestors being a-holes even when those who are trying to help them are there in person to hear from them. They missed a chance to really discuss the issues and they should try harder to pick their battles with the right people next time. But they might just be mad at the world and want to fight everyone and there is nothing anyone can do about that.

I'll give them this: they have the balls to take the fight to the right people, don't see much of that going around where it should be.

I guess the right people being that they took it to the people running for office. However, they are attacking the people who are on their side saying they want a real discussion but then act rude when a real discussion is what they are met with. That is more like trolling and if they want to do that they should go Troll Hillary who didn't even bother to show up.
