Confederate flags filmed being stolen, destroyed in new social media challenge

This game of "capture the flag" is proving to know no rules or boundaries.

A risky social media challenge of stealing and destroying Confederate battle flags has resulted in people filming themselves pulling off the brazen stunts while using the hashtags #DestroyConfederateFlag and #NoFlagginChallenge.

In one video a man is seen tearing down a flag waving outside a home before jumping into an awaiting car and speeding away.

In another video a man rips off flags attached to a pickup truck while it's stopped at a traffic light.

I was waiting for it to go to far. I don't personally fly the flag, but from what I know you don't want to trespass on the property of the people who do.

Someone's gonna get shot and all heck is gonna break loose.

Oh well. Sounds like one or two people are going to win a Darwin Award.

Yep.....You can see this one coming a mile away. I love the irony involved with this.............I am sure progressive logic will say it is OK to steal because they are against this flag.

Progressive logic dictates free speech and tolerance only applies if it is a cause they believe in. This cause can change with time and that is why it is not truly tolerance or free speech under progressive rule.

Were are all the people screaming about destroying private property? Trespassing?

I guess I'm evil, because I'm not going to feel sorry for someone when they get shot for trespassing and stealing.

Just a drop in the bucket of the violence which is sure to follow the increasing public brandishing of the racist, pro slavery, pro segregation, confederate flag.

Sure people will die, people will kill, people will be killed. Eventually the flag is going to have to go. . . . Why you may ask because it incites violence against African Americans as well as every other non caucasian person on earth.

Being open minded and tolerant only applies if you agree with the other side's position. If you oppose said position, you are a racist bigot and therefore committing a hate crime. I wish we would stop trying to teach people to embrace everyone's differences. If we instead focused on our similarities, we would be much more tolerant of each other. We build relationships with others based on things we have in common, not on our differences. Everything is backwards.

Makes you real proud to be an American right now doesn't it.

I'd like to say unbelievable, but no, I believe it. Nobody has the right to come on to a person's private property and steal things.

This situation has gotten so out of hand, where is it going to end ?

Welp, I see this as a no brainer.

People are fiercely devout to the flag of their allegiance. No common thought will sway that, it is almost instinctive as we, as people are tribes are at heart, we seek kinship, and only the rare few of us feel outside of it all - as numerous as we are. We're not often far removed from the people in other places who are see as so foreign and different.. We hold the same core wants. We will fight for our identity.

Those who do this flag deal, will end up being the end result of that very action. Men with weapons hold their value in that flag, above all else - it's their identity. We all know this, or we have family who do.

Stomping on a burning flag with contempt will not leave those who value that flag, with a good taste in their mouth.


It's just a no brainer to me what comes next...

...And how exactly is trespassing and vandalism going to bring justice to the nine people who were slain at the church?

Just another reason for the animals to behave like...animals.

This country is slowly going down the tubes.

We need to create a huge thunderdome where people who really feel that strongly about anything can fight other people who feel that strongly about the opposite...We can do this until one is left standing...then we hang them.

I recommend Delaware.

You are wrong..........I am looking at how even stealing is socially acceptable if it fits into your agenda. Are the people ripping the flags down conservatives........They are liberal progressives for the most part I believe.



Progressives are idealists and that is why they can form opinions like this and than justify it away......I am right on the money.

The end result is someone is going to get shot and killed. My bet would be a riot in response. If the neighborhood involved gets hit in a riot it could get really bad.

Most progressives are hypocrites .


If people were tearing down the rainbow flag in protest over the gay marriage decision by the Supreme Court.


The same people glorifying rebel flag attacks would be outraged .

Someone will get shot, the progressives will start whining about guns and how shooting someone for simply stealing their flag (they'll use the 1st Amendment to defend the thief) is terrible.

Then they'll say anyone who owns a gun is racist because a racist obviously owned the flag and he had a gun!

So gun owners will be racists, everyone having a flag will be considered a racist who supports killing. . . .

And a new progressive, authoratative meme will be born!

Well the news is good for one thing..

But then the Constitution states this as freedom of speech(Symbolic i believe)

I honestly do not care about the flags they fly this flag, nazi flag, or a flag that kills all the people(US Flag).. They can do what they want and should be allowed to.. But meh I guess..
