Why have confederate flag sales across the USA have skyrocketed to epic proportions?

How many people before they decided what the meaning of a Confederate flag is bothered to ask the people flying them? How many people who fought and died with the Confederate flag behind believed they were fighting to maintain slave ownership?

Get 'em while you can!

Same reason gun sales go up during democratic presidencies.

It's quite simple. People are fed up with the whole idea of banning stuff and the PC movement. Right or wrong, people don't like being told by the government what is right and what is wrong. The flag would've never come down had some white kid wearing a Golds Gym shirt and claiming white supremacy killed people. The fact that the kid fit the perfect narrative of what the media and left portray the right as, makes it a justifiable cause apparently. Strangely enough, democrats put the flag up and republicans took it down, but you'll never hear about that.

Same reason you buy anything that is going away. You hope it becomes a collectible and worth some money. And the people who fought and died for the confederacy did not do so under this flag. Only Lee's Army did and when it was over he wanted nothing to do with it. It became popular later as a banner for the anti civil rights crown.

The flag also represents rebellion.

Rebellion against the societal ban of the flag, rebellion against an over-reaching government.

I'm just wondering how much further we can be divided as a nation.

I suspect we can and will be divided only a bit more...in fact, we will probably all destroy eachother once the breaking point is reached.
TP will only have to watch.

Even if the flag had this negative connotation that many believe, they should be happy it still flies in the South. It represents not only the Southern troops who have died for what they believed, but also as a reminder of how America was once split. History needs to be preserved because the more it is forgotten, the more likely it will repeat itself.

People don't like being told what to do or when to do it period. Especially tax paying adults. I know a lot of folks who are doing it on principle alone... Many others see this as a turning point where history may well be rewritten to a kinder, more gentle version leaving out anything that may not be PC enough for the masses.

No matter what your views are on the flag, give the slightest impression that something will be taken away and it will sell like hot cakes.

Gun sales sky rocket after every mass shooting as well because people know that one day the government will likely succeed in their endeavor to "gun grab".

It's one of the only ways left that one can protest on principle alone.

Huh strange, I guess all those people that cared so much about this flag so much before hand never cared enough to actually buy the damn thing?

Why do you think gun sales increase when a democrat is in office?

Because people fall for the "They are going to ban all guns" line every time?

Just like they are falling for that this flag is somehow going to be banned?

It wasn't like it wasn't all that accepted before all went down.

Just because you don't own something doesn't mean you don't support it. Chick Fil A is a great example...when they were attacked, people rallied around them. The flag is no different. I honestly don't think progressives realize how large the silent majority is. While progressives tend to be the loudest voice, the voice that you don't hear holds EVERY city, township and district that doesn't contain a large urban zone or college campus and even in those situations we are silently there, in the backgrounds. That's why progressives are foolish, they think a presidential poll equates to the number of conservatives. It doesn't. There is a silent majority, they are diverse and they are becoming more and more agitated. You know that beast that foreign countries poke at...it's not liberals.

How many democrats have proposed gun restriction laws versus republicans?

The left certainly has a history of banning things they don't like.

Hey if they want to buy 100 Confederate flags as a finger to those who called for it's removal from state grounds, more power to them. Personally I think it makes no difference. A waste of money if you ask me.

Also.... I wonder how many of these folks are paying attention to where these Rebel flags are made:

A quick search on China’s largest sourcing website Alibaba, for example, reveals more than 400 types of made-in-China Confederate flags and related products -- from “Confederate flags on butterfly” navel rings for 62 cents a piece, to “Confederate/USA Crossed Flags Photo License Plates” for $4. There are also Confederate flag-logo iPhone covers, “attitude belt buckles," dog tags and dog collars.

www.ibtimes.com...

Oh dear, many of these poor folks will have no idea where their money is going to.

And all those people who were against it and saw it waving from the Capitol everyday never saw it until now..

And until a little racist, stupid kid shot up a church full of lovely black people did anybody else care about this flag. Instead of focusing their anger on the perpetrator of this awful crime, people have focused on this flag.

Before there was such an uproar, the flags were made and shipped all over by the Dixie Flag Company in San Antonio. They make all sorts of flags for all kinds of things and have been in the flag business for 100+ years. They at first said they would continue to sell the Confederate flag, then got so much flack from the PC people that it began to effect their business so they discontinued them.

Nothing is more en vogue right now than feigned outrage and hurt feefees.
