My very first memory.

Remembering i had a giant headache, that my parents drove me to the hospital. The daily injection in my spine. That I was laying all alone in a room, with a very bad fever and that I had chills and only a very thin blanket covering me.
That I had to wear a girl underwear with Smurfette on it (only 1 or 2 days though) which I absolutely hated and felt ashamed about it.
And the day I came home and the door was all covered in welcome signs and people being there being happy I recovered but basically I remember everything / every detail from those weeks. Also after I can remember allot from age 4 and later.. my short time memory is really bad though, I think it was from that disease I had.

But then again that wasn't my first I remembered I just figured.., when I was 3 the first day on preschool probably.. I remember how the school looked, sitting on the ground with other kids and having a good time (with all those toys).

ok got an even earlier one, as someone mentioned crib, I remember that I was in one with 2 other..

Aw man sorry to hear that, and SMURFETTE?!?? Awww i would of felt the same way too! Also cool! I remember my preschool days as well (: , i gotta say I don't remember me sleeping in a crib.

My first memory is climbing out of my crib, down on to the floor, and going into my grandma's room where she had a plate of brownies and I would steal one, go back to my crib, eat it, and then grab another. I ate the whole plate...lol

The other memory I have like my first was seeing something with huge eyeballs standing in the corner of my room staring at me, daring me to get up out of the crib so it could take me away.


I would consider that my 2nd memory.

She had those sheets when me and my twin were born and left them in Illinois a year and a half later when they broke up. So I was very young not even two

When I was a little over two years old we had a family reunion at my great grandmother's house. I don't really know the details as to what happened, but there was a loaded double barrel in the house and somehow it went off and killed my aunt. All I remember though is hearing the noise and then my great grandmother looking at me and yelling "get the boy out of here!" followed by someone grabbing my arm. My great grandmother passed away shortly before I turned four and that's the only vivid memory I have of her.

Damn interesting thread! I would like to share my first memory too.

I was born in 1984 in chile, in the year 1985 there was a huge earthquake and I remember as a 9month old how they carried me out of the house into this old white peugeot, and everybody saying "take little cloro, take him".

I come from Valparaíso, a city made of a big number of hills. And always when there is an earthquake we must run to the hills (no pun intended) or else we could get hit by a tsunami in the lowlands.

I remember the whole thing quite vividly, when I told my biological dad about it he denied i would remember such a thing. But I do.

Wow pretty impressive! Cool memory, also it's amazing you could remember that far back, pretty impressive.

I remember learning to walk when I was 1 year and a few months old as clear as a bell, and my 2nd birthday when I got a little red bean bag and had a small cake with 2 candles in it sitting in my high chair. I can remember thousands of different dreams I have had since early childhood as well. I have never met anyone yet who can remember that far back besides me, and some people don't even believe it is possible. A lucky roll of genetic dice? Maybe..

edit: Now I see a few who remember even further back, which I wouldn't have known about if not for ATS

Okay this is going to sound crazy, but since others are sharing, and their stories are awesome and some quite incredible too I will
I know for a fact I remember being held by my parents after I was born.
In particular being offered to my dad and his voice the feel of his arms and his smile and a very tangible feeling of love and happiness that passed between us.
I remember seeing his face- for the first time but sort of blurry and unfocused around the edges, also the lighting in the room seemed a little too bright but in hindsight I wasn't used to using my eyes so that makes sense... *shrug*

My first memory is of when my mother tried to get me to breast-feed. I was grossed out & did not take to it. Many ,many, many years later she told me that she tried to breast feed me but was unsuccessful. I never told her that I vividly remember it. I also remember her changing my diaper. I'll spare you the details, lol. I was probably not even a year old.
