I must of been three years old, I'm walking down the road what looks like the neighborhood from the movie the cat in the hat, every house was completely identical everything to the grass to the color of the door etc... anyway I'm amazed by this scene and walking at the same time, I take a left and walk up to the door with the number 3 on it I believe, I open it up and go through the door with a bright shinning light exploding out the door, as I walk through it I close it behind me and then I wake up. The first person I've ever laid eyes on was my mother, I remember saying mom as soon as I laid eyes on her, but in my mind I'm thinking how do I know this? I've never seen her before, then I turn to my right and I see my aunt "tia" I said, which means aunt in Spanish. (Everyone is a stranger in the room but I somehow feel safe and know what to call them) Then I turn a little more to my right and I see my other aunt which again I say "tia" she tells me with excitement (in spanish) "yes yes! Im your tia!" She then grabs my hand and walks me through the living room and then through the room where she introduces me to my fellow cousins. What I want to ask is what does this mean? Has anyone ever walked through a door before their brain started "recording everything" persay? That's always been my most interesting yet confusing memory of them all.

It's amazing that you guys can actually remember your first memory. I have so many childhood memories but I can't discern which would be the very first.

My first memory is boring. I remember laying on my stomach on the floor of my parents bedrooms on a bunch of blankets trying to go to sleep. I was bored, and I could hear the TV on the dresser. Eventually I drifted off to sleep.

Woo.

My very first memory is my mother coming into my room saying she was proud of me that I slept the whole night without waking up, so I'm assuming that was at about a year old or so. Before that, all I remember is being surrounded by a reddish haze.

Sounds like a group of souls that incarnate together and in the new life you are meeting them again.
My own experience might be prenatal. It came to me as a dream when I was five or six. The dream was I was a lambchop and then was eaten and was in a belly. It was kind of pretty in the belly and I could see rose colored light shining through the skin. Kind of what it might look like in the womb. Being in the belly was comfortable and I thought, gee it's pretty peasant being digested, I guess I was too young to understand reproduction so my thoughts came through as about digestion and being in a stomach and not an embryo.

I've found you make memories of things like that from when you were young usually in times where you were experiencing new, more intense emotions - times where you got hurt, times when you were surprised and happy, times when you were afraid.

Was it a real memory, as in, do you know if that really happened and you had really just met your mother & aunt for the first time in a long time? Maybe you felt a sudden rush of euphoria after seeing them and that's what triggered your memory to record.

My first memory is being a toddler in my grandmother's house. I've woken up and there's a small, strange eye symbol floating and spinning in the air. It makes me afraid and I cry about it and my grandma comes in. She asks me what's wrong but I don't have the words to tell her, I just point at seemingly nothing behind her and cry.

my first memory is a field of roses on white.

Turns out it was the sheets my mother had when her and my dad first got married. I described then in such details my mother was surprised

When I was 4 I had meningeal inflammation, and from that time I remember everything.
Remembering i had a giant headache, that my parents drove me to the hospital. The daily injection in my spine. That I was laying all alone in a room, with a very bad fever and that I had chills and only a very thin blanket covering me.
That I had to wear a girl underwear with Smurfette on it (only 1 or 2 days though) which I absolutely hated and felt ashamed about it.
And the day I came home and the door was all covered in welcome signs and people being there being happy I recovered but basically I remember everything / every detail from those weeks. Also after I can remember allot from age 4 and later.. my short time memory is really bad though, I think it was from that disease I had.

But then again that wasn't my first I remembered I just figured.., when I was 3 the first day on preschool probably.. I remember how the school looked, sitting on the ground with other kids and having a good time (with all those toys).

ok got an even earlier one, as someone mentioned crib, I remember that I was in one with 2 other..

Almost sounds like the moment you gained consciousness as an individual.
Cool!

My first memory is climbing out of my crib, down on to the floor, and going into my grandma's room where she had a plate of brownies and I would steal one, go back to my crib, eat it, and then grab another. I ate the whole plate...lol

Yea it definitely happened I've never forgot that memory that's one my most cherished memories, I've been thinking back to that day for a long time. As for your memory I gotta say that's an interesting one.

That's an interesting one!

The other memory I have like my first was seeing something with huge eyeballs standing in the corner of my room staring at me, daring me to get up out of the crib so it could take me away.

I would consider that my 2nd memory.
