Not uncomfortable, just getting annoyed. I have a friend who is gay. It is all he talks about.

"Hi, I'm Jay and I'm gay. Did I mention I'm gay?" It's just redundant

I don't need to be reminded. I don't tell everyone I'm straight.

I don't care about others sex lives. I was taught to keep it behind closed doors.

ATS needs a sex preference section for that kinda talk imo.

When i first looked into a Mirror

When i was very,very young i came out of my room in my sister/cousins clothes and shoes and Makeup.. after being "Physically punished" by my ""Father and Mother"" i was not allowed to leave the house because i had a "Disease" and i was "Sick" etc.. we all know what that code word is for...

Anyways, one day when i was still young "the boy in the plastic bubble" was on Television with John Travolta.. i was in awe, because i thought "Hey that's me" i'm sick, i can't leave, and i said out loud i wanted to marry him because we are the same..

i'll end that story there as the rest is brutal..


i know he wasn't a Gay TV Character, but it was a Memory i had i thought i should share with this topic

Honestly, I don't know! I know I had a friend in elementary school that everyone pegged as gay, but I was totally oblivious to why. Turns out they were all right. I knew about gay musicians from a young age, but only because people pointed it out. The choral director at the church I grew up in also turned out to be gay, , but in my defense, no one picked up on it. I guess my gayder was a bit late in developing, however, I would say for the last 15 years or so it has been fairly accurate.

I don't know what to say Darth I'm just glad even though you had it tough and horrible I know you have turned out with a heart of gold.

I was aware of sexual orientations at a very young. There are "things" in my life which I don't dare bring up in ATS (as there is enough confusion about homosexuality specifically, let alone ________________).

Nevertheless, the variety that resides within sexual orientations was made very apparent, at about puberty for me

Gay lad at work is the most beautiful human being I have ever seen.
Doesn't mean I'm gay just comfortable with my own sexuality.

I have a few family members who are gay, the one that sticks out to me is one of my Uncles came to visit my parents and I happened to be over there. This Uncle was married for a long time, pretty much a hillbilly, lives in the country, owns a farm, but I haven't seen him in years. I went downstairs when he arrived and the reason he had come over was to tell us that he was getting a divorce, was gay and to introduce us to his new partner. I barely remember the conversation and didn't think much of it, even though it was a big surprise that he would be gay. Something else about this was the WTF moment.

The funny thing about it all was what he was wearing, it was like a full fledged jump into a bale of rainbow hay and exactly what you would imagine a gay hillbilly would look like. He was wearing his country boots, ankle high, daisy duke cutoffs that barely covered his ass, yet allowed his hairy pale legs to shine and a flannel knotted at the bottom and with the sleeves cut off and a headband. I was about 22 at the time and already had many friends and family who are gay so being gay was no big deal to me, but his outfit, I will never forget that.

Thanks, i have stories that are hard to tell and hard to hear... it's what my life was i can't change it now

I think the first time I was aware was when there were roumours obout Jimmy Somerville from the comunards and the odd things he did.

We as young boys refuted this as wild speculation as it was a very strange thing to want to do.

We were just as freaked out at the concept of holding hands with a girls also.

On kid had the balls to dance with a girl at a school disco and he was the bravest kid EVER.

I wish I was allowed to bring up Fetishes as a topic in and of itself (the cause, the sheer number, among other things). Alas, some rules on ATS are a bit too conservative for that subject.
