There has been a lot of discussion on this site about The Donald.

I find myself in much distress with my "conservative" bretheren who keep voicing their support for this man, over REAL conservatives like Rand, and some of the other candidates.....

And yet they come down on people like Jeb (who we all know is not a conservative) , News flash, the Donald is not either.......

Now no offense to my liberal or progressive friends, I may not agree with you , however I think you should vote for those you feel in your party represent you.......

I feel the same way for conservatives, if you want a conservative person in office......then Vote for a conservative, not Trump...

Heres some facts on Trump:

– Donald Trump gave over $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation. Despite the fact that he openly criticizes the foundation and the Clinton’s lack of transparency regarding it. Now we don’t have the exact numbers, we only know that his contributions number over $100,000 and under $250,000. Also this may be a good time to note that he personally supported Hillary Clinton’s senate campaign.

– Over the years, he has consistently supported Democrats over Republicans. Since 1990, Trump has given $541,650 to Democrats—more than he gave to Republicans over the same period of time. Kind of odd for someone who claims to be such a gung ho Republican these days, wouldn’t you say?

– In 2008, Donald Trump supported Obama’s campaign. This one is pretty self-explanatory, but here’s a quote from 2011 for good measure. “I was his biggest cheerleader,” “If you go back three years, I’m saying, ‘Do a great job.’ … ” “I thought he was a positive person, always,”

– Trump has switched parties at least five times since the 1980s. Three times since 2001

– His disgusting abuse of government power/eminent domain. Michelle Malkin has covered this extensively. Here’s the thing, with Trump this isn’t a one-time thing. It’s seemingly an integral part of his business model. In 1997, he even went as far as to use eminent domain to try and evict an elderly widow—so that he could build a limousine parking lot. I hate to play identity politics here but… what a dick.

The Guy is playing a shell game.......

We always say to get a look at a candidate, look at his policies, and where the money is going.....If were goign to do this with Democrats, then by god we should be doing it with our own candidates.......

He is a man that is quintessential for having shady business partners, and promoting himself over any REAL interests.....

He cares about The Donald, not the country.......

Please, my fellow conservatives, do your homework on this guy and dont start promoting him until more and more of the facts are coming out......

Dont just listen to his words, look at his actions and his past

At this point my belief is BOTH parties have sold our sovereignty out to the Corporations and Banks!

I'll tell ya why I'd vote for Donald!

He has both parties scrambling!

He isn't concerned about being "Politically Correct".

But realistically? Anyone who thinks electing 1 man/women to change the country without getting rid of the bought and paid for cancer that is occupying the body? *House and Senate* is disillusional! You can't cure cancer without eradicating it from the whole body!

Therefore to put your faith in taking out the cancer in the brain while ignoring the cancer in the torso?

I am just so disgusted with the 2 party system and their lies I get my rocks off voting for someone who is abhorrent to both parties and yes I enjoy bragging about it!

The Donald has nothing to do with the Democratic party or the Republican party.
Donald is all about the Trump party, he's a narcissist in the worst psychological definition of the term.

Whatever he gave Little Miss Corporate had nothing to do with her policies but more with what he stood to gain from his donations.
Same as when he did donate to Republicans, had nothing to do with their policies but again it was, what did Donald stand to gain.

Donald Trump, "trump" ironic name for him since his desires & greed's trumps all moral or ethical practices.

On a personal note I will say the entertainment value of his running in the republican primaries is priceless.
This is gonna be fun to watch!

I think it's important to research all candidates background. Take note of their stances and decisions the made in their past, as it is the best predictor of what they will do in the future.

I'm afraid many people, wrapped up in their busy lives, only listen to the debates and what candidates claim they will do. Sadly as we found out with Obama, not all promises are legit.

I am not an advocate of Trump. It's not only a gut feeling but his flip-flopping and shady support of the Clintons has me questioning.

Thank you for the information.

That's why he has my vote!

You and the OP have been diametrically opposed as long as I have seen you 2 debate!

The fact you gave him a S&F proves my point!

He is a threat to the system in control!

Not that the Republicratic party will ever allow him to get the nomination, after all I think we all remember how they treated Ron Paul?

But that's what's awesome! Ya'll know the Republicans won't give him the nomination yet ya'll still scared? roflmao

Exactly he is already crying that his running for office is ruining his brand. He is only interested in self promotion.

Sounds like Trump is a confused mixture of Cognitive Dissonance and the Hegelian Principle.

As President, he sure would keep Congress in check !!

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

We share a common dislike for a man who is running a for president.
Not sure that proves anything.
All it proves is that we have one thing in common, we both see Trumps true colors.

What makes Trump so non establishment Republican?
What does he stand for that they don't?
Last I checked they are not so hype on PC either.
I say that because that is one of the reasons, only really, that you said you would vote for him.

I'm scared that people who fall for his silver tongue will vote for him.
And not so sure the GOP won't cave and give him the nomination if he gets enough support.
He is second behind Jeb.

Let me ask you this, if we are tired of the rich controlling the system by buying people out, what good does it do to put another billionaire in charge??

I agree to a certain extent, however the history of where his money has gone begs to differ......

People often say one thing and in the back ground are funding another....

Isnt that the premise of follow the money?

That speaks volumes to me

I agree, I believe hes there to wreak havok on the other candidates, and to cause a circus........

Sanders is a solid Democrat candidate.....

he would EVISCERATE The Donald in debate, and policy....

Im would never vote for sanders, but at least the guy stands on his principles....

Hes a hell of a contender....

edit on thSun,

Definitely agree, the guy has all the money he could want, now hes POWER hungry and thats a dangerous place to be in....

To me hes a circus clown distracting from solutions to issue by grandstanding.....

No offense to my conservative friends, but thats my point of view, I keep looking into this guys background and the more I see the less I like....

Again, if you look at yourself as a real conservative, this guy is not your candidate......

(not to say that he is if youre liberal, the guy IMHO is just a chameleon doing whatever he can to get more attention)

So would Rand Paul or Ted Cruz (like them or not) or Scott Walker, or Bobby Jindal all of which actually have experience dealing with those things

He is not a threat to the system. He is a threat to the GOP. The DNC loves Trump because right now he is the GOP poster boy and they can paint the entire GOP as bunch of lunatics. And he gets all the headlines. While Trump poles well withing the GOP (Men over 50 is his base) Hillary beats him with a greater margin than she does any other GOP candidate 54% to 34%. And the GOP is desperate to gain back some of the Latino vote and Trump is crapping all over that.

For the GOP is for the moment an annoyance. They do not expect him to go far no matter what the DNC hopes for so think the damage he is doing will be short lived. However, if he sticks around and keeps being himself he could hand the DNC one it largest victories ever.

Kind of makes you wonder if somebody in the GOP ticked him and now he is on a one man crusade to ruin to the party. I think that is giving him to much credit, I am pretty sure he is just losing his mind.

Here is why Rand won't get my vote.

He voted against GMO labeling.

Now keep in mind my own Democratic state Senator voted against it as well. I sent him and email asking him why, and the reply I got back was condescending to the point he basically was saying government knows best?

Anyhow, you know I love ya brother, but I put no faith in ANY man, especially one who pretends to represent the Constitution who then gets elected and panders to the Corporations and Banks while pretending they care about us little folk!

I know I came across as a wise ass, but I am done with this mad experiment we call voting? It is the same experiment over and over again with the same result anymore. The rich get richer and the less fortunate continue to put faith in a system that is obviously representing a source of power that prevents them from representing the people.

Thus my attitude to vote for who upsets the system I am bitching about?

Hope ya had a nice 4th!

Peace my friend!

Trump is arrogant, a narcissist....and a businessman. As a businessman, he donated to whoever could help the Trump...and whatever would give him a tax write-off.

But, he didn't lie about it or try to hide it. The one thing we do have with Donald is a known quantity - he is what he is, and has no problem saying what he thinks, even if what he thinks changes over the years.

As for supporting Obama in his first run...well...even I was willing to give the man a chance that first run. But NOT the second run, his capability to govern was clear by then.

And Trump's choice to run as a Republican as opposed to a Democrat seems a better choice than running as an independent. More of the Republican base is likely to support him than the Democratic base, and as an independent he would only get Hillary elected.

Frankly, with what we have gotten from career politicians (who are bought and paid for by special interests) SUCKS. Trump is bought and paid for by....Trump. His special interest is....himself and his business. With the shape this country is in, we need someone with experience bailing out of bankruptcy (he has that in spades)...and the country will be Trump's business if he is elected, and maybe he will treat it as such (in other words, he will decide things based on what is good for his business, and if that business is the U.S. than that is a good thing).

Just my random thoughts on the matter for what they are worth.
