The warning came from the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI warning that "homegrown extremists" may target the U.S. over the Independence Day weekend.
Some experts are taking it very seriously.
"I don't want to tell Americans what to do or what not to do. But I wouldn't be surprised if we're sitting here a week from today talking about an attack over the weekend in the United States, that's how serious this is," former CIA deputy director Michael Morell said.

There was a terror alert issued last year too.
The FBI and security services knows that on July 4 there are a lot of people at a lot of large events in a lot of places all over America.
Regardless of whether or not they have any specific info on an attack, they issue an alert just so that if there IS an attack they can say that they warned everyone.
Terror alerts are like the kid who cried wolf. Use them too much, and no one cares.

What are we supposed to listen for, popping noises and Booms?
Where I Iive people discharge their guns on the fourth. Other set off charges up on the hill surrounding the valley.
More keep your eyes open for trigger happy police…
Don't throw firecrackers around them… or drink beer in public, or have your dog off the leash, park wrong, have any fireworks out of "code", etc., etc.
I used to roll my own and make the loudest thuds, it was great.
Its not just BBQ and beer, its Independence day. Let Freedom ring!

I'm not planning on going anywhere. I have no fireworks and I hate crowds so I'll probably get my rifle out and murder some cans. It's been a while since I did that.
