This confederate flag bull# is getting crazy! People can be so dumb. "that the flag of slavery!" Blah blah blah. Oh really? Cause less than 5% of southerners even owned slaves. So you're gonna tell me half a nation decided to join against the other half because slaves were taking away their opportunities for work? Yeah #in right. Everyone thinks Lincoln was the great emancipator. All for freeeeeeeeeedom. Nope.
Know what his plan was? To force all African immigrants to central America where they'd be "most comfortable" and out of American society. The only thing that stopped him was a shot to the head. Meanwhile these days there's a #in yahoo in office dropping the word n-gger in official speeches, getting tensions high, and passing orders for whatever he feels needs changed that day. Seems like someone needs to take a similar approach with today's admin.

Ultimately, what does one alleged tragedy on the east coast have ANYTHING to do with the confederate flag of the civil war. I'll tell you, the flag was never accepted as a "National southern symbol" it was and still is a war flag that was raised by the south during those times as a proclamation that they were free men who wouldn't be forced to change their lives for some snooty businessmen without putting up a fight. And today's Powers That Be would do anything they can to take away every last symbol of freedom and hope. And the poor idiot sheeple support the agenda because they're all so #in clueless.

When you break it all down and actually spend time diggin in history,it's rather plain to see that the war broke out due mostly to the fact that it became inconvenient for the north when the south (who had a much slower pace of life) figured they'd rather buy goods overseas at a reasonable price than pay inflated prices for the same goods of the north. The retaliation? Well the good ol north just sent a few tax monkeys down to the shipping yards to institute import tariffs. The rest is history.

The minority is the liberal media. The small group that thinks it's PC version of life is what WE ALL need to see. As I said, that small group won't get this. It's not in their wheelhouse. Perhaps you could make some signs.

Did I miss somebody saying it had been removed? All I saw was some future tense references to it.

I don't feel like I did. But maybe I did.

I posted a thread about a statue being defaced, and the flag was part of it. The flag was removed from over the capital and placed on a pole inside a "suitable" iron fence. The flag cannot be lowered, because the pole is fixed and flag is attached directly to the pole instead of to a rope and pulley system. Even the exact location and lighting is specified by law.

The flag cannot be moved, lowered, or altered in anyway except by an act of legislature. The governor can make all the statements she wants, but even an executive order can't do anything to the flag. The law also specifies that only a supermajority can amend the legislation. The SC house of reps voted 103-10 yesterday to allow debate on whether the flag should be removed from capital grounds.

What else do I need to know about it? Am I missing something?

I think my biggest point is that you don't see the problem. that in itself it the driving reason this is even an issue.
A guy killed some people. He was a deluded nut, with deluded ideas. Somehow, that one deluded nut's actions, made the whole liberal army, jump up and start hollering about that symbol the kid used in his pictures. He used the symbol for hate. the KKK used that symbol for hate, yet others use it for completely different purposes. THE MAJORITY uses it for completely different purposes.

And please spare me the "they haven't taken anything away yet" crap. "they" are actively scrambling around trying to find any and all ways to placate this race to dumbassness. My own Governor spent time trying to make it legal to remove that flag from some licence plates. Hm..I wonder, was there any other pressing matters that needed his attention? Apparently not.
