Inspired by some recent comments I thought I would start a thread about this.

I'm not a great fan of Rap but believe every genre has merit and theres some truly good "rap" music out there.

My old dad used to say they missed the C off the beggining and I actually saw this in a thread the other day.

If your older(and you must be getting pretty old now as I'm hitting 40 and rap started before my time) or you simply missed the point and never heard any of the good stuff then why not open up that big wide mind of yours and maybe see if we can find something that even if you do not "Love it" maybe do not HATE it either?

You would be suprised at some of the poetry and beauty in the words of rap.

If anyone wishes to put some links up to help this point I would appriciate it and also lyrics may help for the "hard of hearing".

These are a couple of my favorite conspiracy based songs, and Immortal technique is well known for their anti-establishment lyrics.

music is very subjective as per the individual listening and their own tastes. Some may see this as garbage but I personally think that these two particular songs point out some of the unfortunate truths of America and big business.

That was kind of the point of the thread, rap along with other genres is often deemed "rubbish" or lame ect.

I was looking to try and show those who may think that how although some of it may be crap there is real beauty in some of it.

Digging the second track BTW.

I like all types of music, including rap. I have only had trouble getting into instrumental jazz.

I hope the two songs I provided help with the cause, not everybody is out to spit garbage about how much money THEY have and YOU do not and all the girls they are banging including yours. You know the generally perpetuating a whole slew of anti-social behavior types that some mimic in real life unfortunately.

Until we get a few people here that "hate" rap music without cause all we are doing is finding more cool music to listen to with open minds to different genres

I found some stuff I had never heard of so keep going imo.

It must be kind of hard to hate a song about someone that just loves his mum eh?

It's just mindless repetitive noise though isn't it?

Lol. Reminds me so much of my mother's struggles. She was never perfect, but sometimes worked 3 jobs, took care of me, her younger sister abd her sister's child. Later, went to law school while raising me and my brother. I got into my share of trouble and she just kept going. This rap is so deeply touching. So many are.

Thank you, for ease though if when you link you need to take the letters and numbers after the = sign in the address (but miss the bit afterards just the letters and numbers) and use the youtube link in the bar above at the end? this makes it show as a playable link in the thread and is more betterer

Rap is HUGE worldwide right now and its mostly watered down metrialitic garbage. Rap sucks because of the decline of hip hop. I like rap just not anything after 2012. Although, I will recognize that I'm sure I could find some new rappers I would like but the new stuff coming out is horrible.
