Nope. You've fooled yourself. What's your investment in trying to get me to believe huh?
My first alien encounter was My Favorite Martian back in the sixties. All of earths other encounters originated in the same place.
Hollywood.

Notice I didn't ask you to change your mind? I could care less what you "believe", you can pretend anything you want. You can pretend Steven Spielberg invented flying saucers for all I care, I just don't want the more impressionable in here to think that you know what you're talking about. I have a very low tolerance for empty rhetoric passed off as certainty. Not on my watch.

Keep telling yourself that, as long as you possibly can.

I suppose that the "disinfo agents" aren't really considered "other posters". That would make sense.

Which is why I've not responded any further. I could see it devolving into "Is too" , "Is not", "is too","Is not" and I just don't have time for that foolishness.
If there was any evidence that is not argued over, if there was anything that couldn't be debunked I'd accept it. Heck I would love it but I'm not going to lower the standards of proof to accept some half baked ideas or photos of lights in a dark sky.

I don't know,

I assume it is, why don't you give it a try instead of focusing on what you say are off topic comments and say something on topic as these ideas of hypnotic regression do spike your interest and you have a beliefs in its validity as you have previously said,

So

What say you?

The same old its real and valid because of this or that YouTube video?

Hypnotic regression has its advantages but are far outweighed by its disadvantages, the mind can and does create a false memories, to deny such without anything to back the denial other than videos of regressions is deluding yourself or being ignorant to what your own mind can do when it needs to fill in blanks.

Hypnotic regression has its advantages

Its good tool to help loose weight or stop smoking. Its it doesn't do squat for recovering memories. I dont think there is a shred of evidence that it does. However, there is plenty of evidence that it helps with forming false memories.

Of course, nobody wants to touch psychology here ...except when it involves the belief in hypnosis as a memory recovery tool which was a big controversy in the 90s with regards to accusations of childhood sexual abuse based on "recovered" memories. Its now accepted by psychology that it doesn't help recover memories.

Careful, inappropriate laughter can be a warning sign of a number of very serious issues.

The 'more' impressionable will be the ones that take a story at face value with no need for supporting evidence. The group that needs very little convincing and can be led by self-appointed experts. The easily swayed, easily manipulated, easily duped, the ones void of rational and independent thought.
Play to the crown Scdfa, play to the crowd!

its advantage could be if a person performing the so called regression on someone wants to create something they might be able to profit from, not just financially.

Which in turn has many more disadvantages for everyone else.

That's what I meant with advantages and disadvantages.

If your a cold hearted SOB and are a claimed hypnotist you could lead a person susceptible to your hypnosis to do or say anything you might find profit in.

I dont think there is a shred of evidence that it does.

Recovering memories, me neither, however I believe it could be argued that it might help unblock memories that the mind blocked as defense mechanism, however those memories would likely be unblocked by other means and hypnotic regression is a risk due to how easy it for a hypnotist to implant or lead the patient into false memories.

So Hypnotic regression to unblock regressed memories is too risky when the mind can unblock certain memories at a later point in a persons life and like I said there are many other things that can trigger the unblocking of regressed memories.

Of course, nobody wants to touch psychology here ...except when it involves the belief in hypnosis as a memory recovery tool which was a big controversy in the 90s with regards to accusations of childhood sexual abuse based on "recovered" memories

Not to defend it in anyway but in some cases the truth was brought forth which would have most likely come about by others means if given time, others might have been planted and/or innocent false memories due to the way the hypnosis went about and what was asked of the patients or like my example below due to another trauma and the false memories being innocent and not planted or lied about but simply interpreted wrong.

Its now accepted by psychology that it doesn't help recover memories.

Yes I believe so due the ease of diluting any regressed memories with which in turn makes it just about highly unlikely to get verification as being real or false memories.

Even without hypnosis regressed memories are a tricky subject due the memories when recalled or when they start coming back to a person, they might be interpreted as something sinister when in turn the memories were created and stored in regressed state by something completely unrelated, another traumatic experience in a child's life could lead them seeing something on the news for example and later in life have these memories coming back in bits and pieces with the interpretation being that they were a victim of something when in fact they weren't.

Not to worry,

I lost my mind ages ago, picked up the shattered pieces and glued them back together only to drop them again and again,

Why do think I am on ATS,

because I am sane?

In the eyes of modern psychology we are all a bit loopy.

Can you hear my
laugh, woohahahaha
