It's been almost a week. Has Roof even been formally charged yet? How did he plead? What is the name of his defense lawyer?

en.wikipedia.org...
Arraignment is a formal reading of a criminal charging document in the presence of the defendant to inform the defendant of the charges against them. In response to arraignment, the accused is expected to enter a plea.

www.aol.com...|main5|dl2|sec3_lnk4%26pLid%3D- 473309966
Shelby Police Chief Jeff H. Ledford said 21-year-old Dylann Roof would be charged either when the plane transporting him landed in South Carolina or when it entered South Carolina airspace.
Roof has waived his right to counsel, meaning he will either represent himself or hire his own lawyer.
An assistant clerk in North Carolina says the extradition hearing for suspect in the fatal shooting of nine people at a historic black church lasted just 10 minutes....

Roof has had an Extradition Hearing in Shelby and a Bond Hearing in Charleston. But still nothing about his Arraignment Hearing, where he is formally charged with his crimes. It is inconceivable to me that they would allow Roof NOT to have a lawyer, to avoid any future controversy about lack of legal counsel.

Now they are trying to explain away his suspicious "legal" gun purchase:

www.nbcnews.com...
Law enforcement officials say the transaction was entirely legal, despite a pending drug charge.
.... Federal law prohibits the sale of a gun to anyone who is "under indictment for" a felony, but the drug charge Roof faces is a misdemeanor under South Carolina law. For that reason, according to several current and former law enforcement officials, the pending charge did not disqualify Roof from buying a gun.

Except the original police report clearly says he was arrested for possession of Cocaine and L S D(and possibly Meth)--which are felonies! Now you see it, Now you don't!

I can think of a possible explanation. Perhaps he was "charged" based on an officer's belief that what he had found in a search was indeed coc aine or '___'. If, when tests were performed on the substances, those substances proved to NOT be those particular illegal substances, the charges would have been modified to fit the facts of the case. It is not a rare occurrence that charges get modified.

How many of these things have you followed?

When is first info ever accuarate?

Maybe, wait for the full, completed, investigation before you start unfounded conspiracies.

the kid was obviously racist--and crazy.

He fits the profile of all the other killers--isolated, marginalized, rejected by women, a loser with no prospects, and unpopular. Certainly he focused on race in his derangement, but he could have easily focused on Christians and jocks like the Columbine shooters or whites like the beltway snipers. Homocidal maniacs tend to focus on specific groups that they feel have wronged them in some way.

Apparently there were signs early on that he was a bit different. How different?

OCD type behaviors at age 3/4. Not really fitting in, etc.

Apparently Roof will face two concurrent trials in both the state and federal courts:

www.postandcourier.com...
The agency and federal prosecutors already have confirmed that they’re conducting a hate crimes investigation into the June 17 attack

State:
In state General Sessions Court, Roof already faces nine counts of murder and a charge of using a firearm in a violent crime. Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson is prosecuting that case, and Circuit Public Defender Ashley Pennington and Columbia attorney Boyd Young will defend Roof in state court.

Federal:
Charleston-based Nathan Williams and Columbia-based Julius Richardson of the U.S. Attorney’s Office will prosecute the case, according to federal filings.
Assistant U.S. Public Defenders Ann Walsh of Charleston and Bill F. Nettles IV of Florence were assigned Monday to the case..

But whether State or Federal, shouldn't this purely local crime be prosecuted by the City of Charleston local criminal justice system? For example, alleged Aurora/Batman shooter James Holmes is not currently being tried by the Fed or the State of Colorado. He is being tried by Arapahoe County, the location of the crime.

Suspect in shooting on Calhoun St is a w/m approx 21 slender small build wearing a grey sweat shirt blue jeans timberland boots clean shaven

When I raised this issue, people pointed out that the cops probably got his car's license plate number from parking lot video to make the ID. But now they are saying the car had phony plates:

www.postandcourier.com...
The South Carolina plates on the car Roof was driving turned out to be stolen from a 1995 Mazda out of Little River Inlet, according to radio communications.

So the question is raised again: how did they already know he was 21 before anybody IDed him(his father and uncle IDed him to cops the next morning, after the surveillance video stills had been released to the media)?

So, what specifically are you alleging? They knew his name before hand but only released his age because...what?

They are smart enough to stage this huge event but so stupid as to release his age before they were supposed to know?

Why would they do that?

Isn't the most obvious answer that they looked at the video image and made an accurate guess about his age? After all, they were cops.

Now that one has to be the least obvious answer.

How did they know he was 21?

According to this source, Roof told a witness his age.

radaronline.com...
1 page Charleston PD affidavit, dated June 18
.... physical description and age of the shooter(described by witnesses ...as a white male, approx. 5'07", slender build, who told the witness that he is 21 years old) .....

South Carolina DMV records show the defendant as being registered owner of a black 2000 Hyundai Elantra (SC Tag #LGF330)

But I thought he had phony plates attached to his car?

Video surveillance from the church captured.... Approximately an hour later, the same individual emerges, looks both ways and then exits the building carrying a handgun.

So why don't they show us this pic?

....the named defendant did knowingly and unlawfully violate South Carolina State Statute 16-3-10 (Murder) to wit: ....

16-3-10 ?
6+3=9, thus 1-9-10, thus 9-1-10, thus 9/11

OOO-eeee-OOOOOOO!

Watching the "eulogy" that Obama is giving right now. Leave it to Obama to turn it into a political speech and a three ring circus.

Honestly I thought he did a good job with the eulogy a bit political at times but he seemed genuine.
BUT THEN he broke into song. I'm guessing his daughters, if watching, were face palming right about then.
