He's out of touch just like Ted Nugent is.

They both think America is the greatest nation on earth..........based on when they think America actually was.

America is not the greatest, nor was it ever.......unless the only criteria for determining that is having freedoms no one else has.......just for the sake of it.

Now, you see, I can never understand why people make this statement.

Exactly what freedoms do Americans enjoy, that are not available to the people of Canada, Australia, the UK, Sweden, France...and dozens more Countries?

Why do American's have this idea of "only in America"?

I hear and read about this all the time, and it mystifies me...things like, "only in America" can a man/woman start out with little or nothing, work hard and become a success.

Does the average American actually believe these things?

It defies all rational logic that people still follow this president and consider him the "Messiah".

The only people that refer to him as messiah are the ignorant right wingers.

After nearly 7 years of deceit and lies

And even though one party said they would everything they could to keep him from getting reelected he has still been able to keep over 50% of the promises made while campaigning.

do nothing but campaign

Like he is the only President to do that. At least he hasn't been on constant vacation like the last one.

weaken the economy

The economy has been bouncing back from the shambles the idiot before him left it in.

divide the country

Yes by pointing out the inequalities of our society.

bow down to our enemies and disrespect our friends

What enemies has he bowed down to? And if you think Israel is our friend then you know nothing about Israel.

If you are in the US and agree to the above you may want to consider renouncing your citizenship and moving to your "promised land" country of choice.

Seeing how you don't support the ideals of our founders then maybe America isn't the nation for you.

And this from someone that voted for him the first time.

That was your mistake.

I like Charlie's spirit, but this letter carries no more weight with me than any of the thousands of pro-Obama tweets on Twitter.

This is just a guy voicing his opinions, and while they may be the opinions of many Americans, they aren't the opinions of all Americans.

President Obama is not to blame for everything that ails our nation; he has many things to answer for, but so do a great many others who have had a direct hand in policy and law making. They all need to be held accountable. But therein lies the real problem: They all need to be held accountable, by the rest of US, and the rest of US can't seem to agree on which way a roll of toilet paper should be hanging in the bathroom.

We spend far too much time arguing and backbiting, to be the stewards of our own freedoms and elected leadership. Yeah, they are supposed to be the stewards of the law and nation, but WE are supposed to be the stewards of them, and we have failed miserably in doing so.

Many children today will face getting married and not leaving home if things don't change. America is very different from the era in which Charlie Daniels grew up. Some things are better but many things are worse.

Our grandfathers saw the day you could have 1200 acres for nearly nothing and pay cash for it in the 40's and 50's.
For me 1200 acres is wishful thinking and something I can only dream of. If things stay the same I'll never see the day I can own 1200 acres.

My grandfather saw a day when there was no payroll tax. He also saw the day in the late 40's that a gov employ walked into the woods and demanded that payroll tax be held out as a 2nd warning. He closed up shop and never cut another tree after that job ended.
He couldn't read or write and the gov had ended the simplicity of his cash only employment system.
He got payed cash and payed cash. Paying cash has its draw backs as he had folks attempt to rob him of payroll on several ocassions while riding a horse and carrying it in a saddle bag. It was always someone who knew him every single time.
He once blew the bark off a tree with a 45 where a guy was standing behind demanding the money at gun point trying to stay hid to not reveal his true identity.

Reading his letter you can tell that he has soaked-up the propaganda that has been fed to him. It's the same ole talking point after talking point.

It saddens me to see that people still have not become aware of this by now. Not only celebrities like Daniels, but even many of my fellow members of ATS are brainwashed by the hard right propaganda.

Truly sad.

Propaganda isn't only from the Right, and just because you seem to prefer sipping the koolaid from the other side of the glass, doesn't make you any better than Charlie Daniels, or anyone else.

It's a two-headed beast we're dealing with, and the sooner people wake up to that fact, the better off we'll all be.

Why don't you write your own letter?

Do You think it may get to a stage, where not to want a war with Iran will be considered anti America like with Iraq?

While not at all surprising, I think it's an absolute shame that yourself or anyone else could be impressed by such a display of absolute ignorance.

It's more than apparent that Charlie Daniels, (like many other Bible thumping Americans) believes that our "Commander-In-Chief" is actually elected to lead the "Lords Army" in a perpetual state of war against their religious enemies. GIVE ME A BREAK!

It's no wonder that these same people also interpret the rejection of such religious fundamentalist ignorance as a "War on Christianity" when nothing could be further from the truth.

All I have to offer Charlie Daniels and his likeminded supporters is my pity.

After the November Massacre of 2014, the Democrat Party is sinking further and further into obscurity.

Any time somebody exposes Obama, the Democrat Left goes hog wild with every attack method known to man.

Daniels has conjured up the desperate Devil Democrats with this letter.

BUT

I appreciate anyone who takes the time to voice an opinion on the political leadership no matter where it's coming from.

So don't lump us lefties to(o) securely, we might surprise you.

I wonder why he didn't write a letter like this to congress?

Charlie, take off the blinders. We have three branches of government.

I bet if asked, Charlie might say both parties are to blame, just like when confronted ATS members do the same, but you'd be hard pressed to ever see a public letter, or speech by him that explicitly criticizes a conservative, like he criticized a liberal with this letter. Just saying. That's the problem. We take sides and never criticize our own side.

Propaganda isn't only from the Right,

I never claimed that propaganda only comes from the Right. The Left is guilty of doing the same, but I will say that the Left is no where near as good or on the same level as the Right. There is a big difference in how effective each side is.

It's quite obvious that Daniels is not brainwashed by the Left's propaganda, so why would I mention it in my post? In fact, why would you even mention it unless you felt the need to somehow defend the propaganda of the Right?

and just because you seem to prefer sipping the koolaid from the other side of the glass, doesn't make you any better than Charlie Daniels, or anyone else.

You assume too much. Perhaps this is arrogance on my part, but I am better than most because I don't drink kool aid at all from either side of the glass. I am a free-thinking individual that does not fall victim to the political, left vs. right nonsense in which people fight for team A or team B.

It's a two-headed beast we're dealing with, and the sooner people wake up to that fact, the better off we'll all be.

And this highlights the serious problem we have in this country. Everything is either left or right, black or white, coke or pepsi.

It is not a two-headed beast at all. It is a muti-headed beast with multiple tails and some seriously sharp claws. It's more complicated than you described. Approaching with your sort of thinking is what gets people into believing the left vs. right, black or white mentality.

It's very dangerous, stifles free-thought and teaches people that it is wrong or evil to step out of the popular paradigm to come to better, more informed opinions.

Americans are crazy, i'm telling ya! They start foaming at the mouth whenever it looks like Iran might actually get anything nuclear but conveniently over look the fact that not only does Israel have nuclear abilities but it also was trying to sell nukes to a racists South African government!

How many terrorists attacks have Iran been responsible for on American soil The last time Iran did anything was that hostage crisis and Jesse Jackson got the Iranians to release the hostages, haha!

All in all, letter is something that shouldn't have been written to be taken seriously. If people don't Iran to have nukes, then Israel then give up it's nukes. If I was Iran, as long as Israel has access to nuclear weapons, then I would pursue them too.

Those that know history know that the only reason Iran is public enemy number 1 is because they decided to nationalize their oil reserves which pissed of the Oil companies and Western governments to the point that the West purposely over threw a democratic government.

America gets no leeway with me and this country leaders, just like it's people, are filled with hypocrites who want their own way, and use the adage of "Do as I say, not as I do"

the greatest nation the world has ever known is losing a war with a small army of criminals and thugs that grows bigger every day simply because you don't have the guts to face the problem.

America is a great nation but not the greatest. Just as any black person who lived through segregation and desegregation, ask them how great this country is. If you are a wealthy white man, then yes this is a great country! (that is directed at the man that wrote the letter)

Where you're mistaken is that the Right and Left are parts of the same whole. They are both equally deceptive, and that is part of the trap.

No. Just the one's like Nugent and Daniels. I could draw you line across a U.S. map that pretty much separates the wheat from that chaff. The one's who don't know how the rest of the world operates........because they don't feel they have to know.......because we got more guns and freedums than anyone else. "GOD BLESS MURICA"...........f*****g hillbilles.

This is why I don't like people like them making noise that the rest of the world hears, and then assumes they speak for America. They don't speak for America and they sure as hell don't speak for me.

I love my country, but I don't delude myself into thinking that this is the only country I could ever love. Canada would be a good one......Iceland (The oldest Democracy in the world)..........Norway. Hell, I think even Chile could grow on me given time.

This world has a lot of good to offer. It's too bad that the minority who believe otherwise yell the loudest.
