I appreciate that it is a hard subject and none really has the answers to this, so why people are so quick to politicize a childs hardship I'll never know.

I asked you how you wold personally treat this, as I only have your posting history to go on which comes across (to me) as angry and very anti anything "not normal", I have thought to myself in the past "imagine if you were some poor gay guy wanting medical assistance from this person" You really don't come across as having empathy for peoples struggles that may lead to medical issues for them, therefore, I was interested to hear how you would actually treat this issue and am pleasantly surprised by your response.

Trans is a hard subject, so hard for parents, the child, everyone, so much harder than for people who come in and fire off how sick everyone is involved on something they have no idea about. (referring to others not you)

Thanks. The only thing one can say for certain is that it is a difficult subject.

When having a discussion on difficult subjects there are many aspects--aspects that are quite often in conflict--medical, political, economic, social, moral, psychological, psychological, etc and there is never no one good answer.

I'm a libertarian politically, so politically I tend to side that way with things.

I don't let people bother me online most of the really bad ones are just trolls. Now in my real world day to day I'm still in that ambiguous stage (I've been on blockers for about a year and estrogen for 4 months) of transition so I don't really get messed with. For those that know me and know about what I'm doing well most of those know my reputation of savagely defending myself and the amount of drama that would befall someone who hurt me. I have family and friends know what I'm saying? So I'm pretty confident and mentally strong for the most part though I do struggle emotionally from time to time.


Mornings are worst and on the bad ones I have like a private 5 min cry session to let my negativity and sadness out. Then up by the bootstraps and on my way. Gat damn Marine Corps made me pretty efficient machine lol, seriously I think all young adults coming of age could benefit from at least a 2 year tour with that branch. It will prepare you greatly for the cruelty of life.

I 100% agree.

It should be a choice only made as a adult when the find fully formed.

Teenagers and children go through phases. Letting the mutilate there body's over something they could very well change there mind on would end in catastrophe for many.

Thats different. Its effects are not permanent and it used to treat medical conditions.

And before you say the whole sex change thing is a condition. At teenage years there no way to determine if its a phase or real.

I assure you Mr Ewok that once you stop taking blockers the original hormones kick back in pretty quickly. Admittedly though if you take them for too long it could make one infertile. So my solution to that is put some sperm or an ovary on ice so that if you ever decide to procreate with your original DNA you can.

Please understand that their are supportive and informative professionals out there to help guide any family that may be dealing with this. All the big questions and concerns get addressed, it is part of the process to even get prescribed hormones. It's not like you can just walk in CVS and say "hey give me some of that their estrogen" .

As for people who regret decisions about their individual identity they probably weren't very sure of and secure about themselves in the first place. Gee I wonder if that could be in some cases a result of restrictive and oppressive parenting which I know first hand what that is like.

Ok Mr Dramatic, nobody is pushing anything on anyone simply spreading awareness that their are avenues for support and education out their for everyone to make their own minds up as to what is BEST for them.

Nobody is kicking down your door and saying "Gimme your children, we are taking them to get SRS. MUWAHAHAHAHA.....

Or better to wait until they are of ADULT age.

My view will not budge on this one inch.

How you live your life as a adult is up to you. Be gay, transgender or what ever I wont hate your for it or stop you.


But leave the kids out of it!

The more you insist on bringing children into it the more hostile I will get to the gay and transgender community.

I dont understand your premise of disassociating a child to the adult they become, you understand it is the same person?

Definitely not!

At 18 after a child has time to experience the world, their mind, and body they should have every single right to make these choices. I would fully support my own offspring if that was their choice.

I wanted to be a T-Rex at age 5. Thank god my parents weren't loons and there weren't dinosaur hormones.
