I don't mind this flag at all nor do I think the intention is to override national flags.

This is an updated verison of the "Earth" flag, same background and same circular focal point. I actually prefer the "Earth" flay as a planetary flag.

The configuration of the geometric design is actually a 'Seed of Life' form of an ancient geometric form and I am appalled that someone would have claimed to have 'designed' it. Probably hoping for a tradmark or patent or the like - disgusting.

I don't know the details - but it's pathetic that NASA has to market something like this to raise funds because of our wonderful 'austerity' brethern.

Imo, If they want to represent the whole earth then show one circle, not a bunch nested. That symbol today reflects the separate power bases, not "one earth"…

I guess NASA is expecting to run into a few aliens from time to time, so they need a 'Unified Earth' flag.....it shows unity, and common purpose, etc; etc.......

I didn;t see that at first, and I live here. They want to show humanity put a face on a flag. Two eyes a nose and mouth…

I think the question is absurd because the premise is false. NASA isn't supporting replacing national flags and the symbol itself isn't nefarious.

The flower of life is supposed to be an encapsulated dodecahedron. A dodecahedron is suggested to be the geometric building block of all matter on a quantum/sub atomic scale.
