I'm not seeing anything more than a socially awkward old lady and a disconcerting conversation in this story. Everything here is easily explained with the exception of your rather surprising reaction to the event. Someone with 20 something years of experience as yours I would not expect to be put off by a whole lot. If anything, it sounds to me like you may be getting a wake up call to start attending proper mass again, or the boogy gran is gonna pinch yer cheeks, and not the ones on your face.

That's actually one of the main problem when working in the occult/psychic. You do sort of gain "psychic powers" (superintuition) but at the cost of more bull# mixed with it too. You can see the illustration of this daily on this site

Intuition works, but when you let psychosis takes root too it then becomes useless because you can't tell anymore the truth from your own fears and beliefs.

It's a huge problem in the esoteric and I find it baffling that most people on ATS who are interested in the supernatural prefer to ignore this part of the equation. You can't really cultivate intution without also cultivating a very strong critical sense at the same time. Otherwise you just end up crazy.

All occult books warn about this actually but most people prefer to ignore it or think they are stronger than that. Yet I can tell you the forum is full of psychotic people just by the way they post and my own personal experience with psychosis.

It wouldn't be so bad if people did not get super defensive when you try to be critical.

I know you're not supposed to but I'm quoting this for truth. Very important to maintain a "critical" /"rational" /"skeptical" component to one's personality to provide checks and balances when heading off into mental and spiritual territories like that.

You see so many people on sites like this (not so many here as elsewhere) who have become lost; hardly anyone ever comments as you have here.

Absolutely go see her again. No reason to be afraid of her, especially when your next potential meeting with her would be in public. Think of some good questions to ask her.

I also will add that I have seen a human with what appeared to me at the time to have impossibly dilated black pupils filling up impossibly huge eyes the size of half dollars or silver dollars.

He was presented to me as someone channelling an Archangel. This was a group of western occultists. I immediately left their home. I had met the person in question many times before and many time afterwards. He was a nondescript fellow with not a lot going for him and a very modest and open biography; no evidence whatsoever of creepiness or paranormal ability other than that incident. He explained to me that he was able to do that after years of training with the occultists employing rather boring sounding self awareness exercises that sounded like something out of Castaneda.

So, I'm not convinced this appearance isn't within the realm of physical reality for a normal human being.

I will also add that these occultists did seem to be able to achieve manifestations that I could not explain within my current paradigm. HOWEVER--I also caught them going to great lengths to try and trick me into thinking something supernatural had occurred when it had not.

If I were you I would go back to that church to see if that woman was there again. I would also investigate by asking everyone there including the minister (s) if they knew who she was. I'm not saying there might not have been a "super"natural component that you were reacting to but I'd be willing to wager a lot she is also a normal human being with a verifiable back story.

Also, how did your relative react, verbally or facially, when creepy-lady said, "here is one smart man. Maybe we need to work with him, bring him to a meeting."

Ask relative what could have possibly prompted creepy-lady to suggest "we" (relative and creepy-lady) about anything to do with you, since it turns out your relative had never met her. And get your relative's gut reaction on what was meant by "bring him to a meeting."

That statement about "a meeting" was exactly the thing that struck me as odd too, considering that the relative did not know the woman...

Great investigative suggestions you made in that post!

What I meant about her eyes is that the middle portion, eyeball as you might call it, the pupil and the colored area around it, were black. Not her whole entire eyes, she had "the whites of her eyes" like a normal person.

I've seen them both ways; kids with the entire sclera and iris black and adults with just the iris, although the iris is somewhat larger than average. Although my own eyes are much larger than average, so that could just be genetic but they look as if their pupils have dilated so much that it obscures the entire iris--no definition between pupil and iris, just solid black, even standing in sunlight.

Please contact your relative and ask how it came about that she was talking to creepy-lady when you returned from the bathroom. Did creepy-lady walk up and start talking? What were the first words out of her mouth? What were all of the words out of her mouth before you joined the conversation. Do this before the relative's memory has a chance to fade!

Another thing too....did the relative see the black eyes on creepy-lady? Because some people cannot see them, and would not think anything was weird about the person other than perhaps her demeanor.

Mydriasis and Aniridia.

It was actually posted many times in the thread. Mydriasis is also a side effect of many drugs which would totally explain the "unusual" behaviors.

Not saying supernatural things don't exist, just saying ignoring the natural is not any wiser than denying the supernatural.

I think this will be my first and one of the very few comments like this.

So you wrote this huge story to tell us about this encounter, but you "Can't remember" about the Blood Moons or anything important. You can go into so much detail but you leave out all the goodies of your conversation with this woman.

I love this story, but it's not true I don't think. And if it IS true, she picked the wrong person to try and reach out too. Send her my way so we can save the world next time, Kay?

I'm not the greatest "reporter" on these forums but I hate it when people # with other people, especially with things like this.

On another note, I have not had what one would call a "conventional paranormal experience" and if it was, I didn't see anything, only felt it. This story really got to me. But aside from our imaginations, you and I seem very different. I guess, technically, if this person was trying to save the world, she WOULD have reached out to you and not me.

Seeing as the skeptic in me can only stand out in my persona for so long. I may have to start going to church, because apparently THAT'S where all the "magical demon" people are. Not sure how else to describe the black-eyed, horror movie type characters.

Sorry for being a douche, just hate people getting my hopes up.

I think you should reply directly to the OP and not simply post -- I would like to hear what the OP has to say about your post. I believe in your frustration, so it impresses upon me that I should encourage you to do so.

Please re-post with a directly reply. I am interested to get the OPs POV regarding your take on the 'story'.

Thanks in advance.

Best comment I've read in sometime.

I enjoyed reading about your psychotic episode(s). Sincerely, thanks for sharing.

“Yesterday, I believe I had an encounter with a "black-eyed person." I have heard of BEK before here on ATS, and dismissed the whole thing as figments of peoples' imaginations or misunderstood observations, but after yesterday, I can no longer say they are making up stories….

…The first few times I looked her in the eye, I thought it was the light in the room or shadows playing a trick on me. Her pupils and iris, or however you want to put it, were solid black…”

What you’re describing is not a “Black-eyed person” (BEP). A real BEP (they do exist) do not have any whites to their eyes. The eyes are ALL black, like an animal’s. A real BEK is not human. Some consider them to be shape-shifting plasma beings.

“…This is where this ties into ATS-type topics more. She talked about the Pope wanting to unite religions and make some sort of single world faith, and how she thought the Pope's efforts were tied into people pushing for a one world government…
The rest of what the woman said was more of the similar things, she kept going back to "blood moons" and talking about Israel and different conflicts that were both beneficial and detrimental to the state of Israel.”

I’ve seen books on this topic (the intertwining of Blood moons, Israel, and the Catholic Church) on Amazon.

The only thing weird about this woman (to me) was that she purposely kept stepping on your toes (an OCD behavior?). That and her sudden vanishing at the end.

Was this a penecostal church or one of the other denominations that believe in speaking in tongues and laying on of hands? Just curious.

I think you should muster in one of the meetings, and gather as much information as possible if you come back in contact with the 'old lady'. As a LEO, you have the entitlements to take things up a level, or put it in the hands of a noteworthy detective, or perhaps another agency if need be. But through your writing, I believe you have the wits and characteristics to handle a little bit of it yourself. I too am like you, and if you need help or advice if this area of knowledge; please feel free to contact me. Just send me a peer to peer email on here and we can correspond.

Why the hell my comments are not showing up?

Anyway, colors indeed not exist. They are our brain interpretation to multiple U.V wave of lenghts. Dogs can see colors, in fact, they can see much better than us because they can see other wave lenghts.

Black eye colors are in fact real, but they are incredible rare. Peopel say it's the rarest eye color in the world. I personally believe that this was just an odd girl, people can be very odd.

Replying directly to the above....still need to call my relative back and ask more questions. I will try tonight.

It's not that I blocked out or don't remember the blood moon stuff, it's that I had no clue what she was talking about and no context to put it in. To me it was babble. She mentioned some numerology type statements about how often blood moons occur and how that coincided with events in Israel. She kept saying the number 1400, both as a date (what happened that year...I need to look it up as time allows) and 1400 being the number of days or months between some events. I could not follow her because I do not have the background to understand the blood moon thing or the history of Israel.

I have seen a lot in my life, both in the military and in law enforcement, and the encounter did not strike me as more than an odd person until the woman vanished. I was not shocked until then.

Thinking back, I was about 15 feet from the door when she left, but measured in steps I was walking perhaps eight steps behind her and trying to look casual while hurrying through the door. If my old pavement pace count (which I did in the military) is still pretty much the same, I was actually about 33 feet behind her as she approached the door. She did not go through it quickly, so I closed the gap as best I could.

I tend to read all the Black Eyed ____ stories I come across, I find them entertaining. I leave the story with nothing that lends itself to truth. Either you are a great, short, simple story teller or I believe you. Freaky for sure. Really hits me oddly that a black eyed person would be hanging at a church event...perhaps it was more sinister than that. Being you're on the force, I would go to that meeting and conceal carry. Whatever evil & wrong is going on in this crazy society, I would rather uncover it than ignore it. Easier to say from my living room, I know. Something (or many things) are heading our whole civilization into the cr@pper, we gotta start knocking on doors.
S&F for more attention to the thread.
