Former Congressman Patrick Murphy was on the train and is on MSNBC, he was in the Café car, and the car went over on its side and he found himself upside down. He reports some injuries in his car, a couple of people couldn't get off the car and had to be worked on by paramedics there. Took about eight or nine minutes for paramedics to get there (although he's estimating, probably elongated time in his viewpoint).

That video looks bad. Thank you for posting. The scanner is asking the media choppers to use their spot lights to help.

I hope all are ok, and no casualties.

(I hope this isn't gonna be another ISIS declared attack.)

This is very sad. I will keep all in my prayers tonight. They are saying at this point at least 50 (if not more) are injured - but they are still trying to gather people up and rescue people from the looks of it.

So sad.

Scanner just said "power is still on" and to use caution around the tracks - how long does it take to cut power? Genuine question

Edit: Amtrak reps there now to try to shut power off

I don't know. I guess since it is night they might have to call someone in. I hope they have someone close by. That is really scary for everyone down there.

Bummer...I stopped flying quite some time ago and use Amtrak to travel all over when in the states....its a great service in my opinion and sad to see this happen.

Breaks my heart seeing all the twisted, mangled metal and realizing some passeger's loved one is at home right now, unaware, thinking there was just a interruption in service, waiting... And the injured, traumatized or even worse passengers...I feel helpless and humble.

Prayers to and for all.

I've been listening for about 20 minutes, and I didn't hear that. I have heard a lot of calls to switch to a special channel, but that's S.O.P. for events like this...

Technology has made witnesses of us all, and helpless fools where ignorant fools we used to be.

My thoughts are with the victims.

Good find! An embeddable youtube - yet still live - feed!

Not to detract from what is happening, but that is really cool. We have tons of new advances in technology every day.

Anyone in the area?
I checked on Google and there is a sharp turn in the rails near what looks like a Publix?
The tracks look really substandard up near the school bus parking lot.

Prior to joining the firm, Patrick represented over 700,000 constituents from Pennsylvania's Eighth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives for two terms. The youngest congressman elected in 2006, at age 33, Patrick served on the Appropriations, Intelligence, and Armed Services committees and championed equality by authoring the bill repealing the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy. He coauthored the 21st Century GI Bill, Hire Our Heroes legislation and was instrumental in helping make the Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery a reality in 2008. Patrick also authored The Improper Payments Bill, which as saved the American taxpayer tens of billions of dollars.
