Train derailed outside of Philadelphia

Cars have rolled over.

That is a very busy station. My thoughts and prayers are with victims and rescue workers!!

"Officials say eight to ten cars derailed on the 2000 block of Wheatsheaf Lane. Several people were injured though officials have not yet revealed their conditions."

I think that twitter feed calling it a "mass casualty incident" is seriously jumping the gun, and in a situation like this, that's in piss-poor taste. All the news outlets are literally just now picking this story up. It's far too early for anyone, with any authority whatsoever to have 'declared' anything.

Scanner is talking about LOTS of walking injured and they need EVERY bus available

Holy.......It just broke into our program here in south Jersey. Shocking!! I came here immediately to see what you guys know, because I knew you would have it here 1st. I'm shocked! TY for the thread. They said to expect mass casualties, I sure hope that's not the case.....

They have changed their update..

AMTRAK DERAILS:
- Near PA

- 240 Passengers

Why is it weird?

Christ, what the hell was that train doing, to have derailed and done this sort of damage?

The scanner is listing some as critical. One hospital is already overwhelmed.

There's nothing weird about that. It takes awhile for news (even local) to get on a story....Don't go trying to turn this tragedy into some sort of conspiracy already....
