That may be the case. If we are truly dealing with beings that are superior, they may very well be able to avoid detection but then there wouldn't be any evidence. So its like they can't be detected but yet they leave a mountain of evidence that can't prove they exist either. In which case, are they just intergalactic trolls messing with us?

They're clearly superior, but evidently not infallible. If they were completely 'off the radar', we will not be talking about 'them' right now.

For instance, 'they' moved a car with 2 passengers close to its original destination, causing a mess with their adversaries in a rally competition.

In another case, 'they' allowed several witnesses to drive off after their 'ship' hit with a 'light' a person nearby, knocking him down.

Oh yeah, that DID happen.

I'm not quite following your theory, I was first taken in 1966, my mother was taken before I was born, incidents that dated from 1959-1961.

Same aliens, same modus operandi, same disposition. No friendlier in 1959 that in 1997.

Truth is, they were actually much more friendly as they got to know us over the years, believe it or not. They certainly didn't regards us as equals, but there was a connection, and consideration. And maybe even some concern.

(UFO culture is) a projection of our little world, its provincialisms, phobias, dogmas and squabbles onto a universe which is incredibly vast and loaded with resources beyond what most people can even imagine.

The same is true of all fields of human activity, including your vaunted science of exobiology.

Hiya SDFA, I wasn't so much offering a theory as pointing out the change in themes and imagery when aliens are described. The narrative of abductions has also changed over the years and a lot of history has been attached after the fact. That isn't to say I think it's all make-believe; not at all. It's just pointing out that reports of abduction didn't include parents and grandparents until the 1970s. Iirc it was the late 1970s at that.

This is interesting. The Hills case has come to reflect the dichotomy of reported encounters with one party being reassured and the other being terrified by malevolence - it's like a metaphor for experiencers versus abductees. With your association with Hopkins, I would have expected your reported experiences to have been on the malevolent side of things. Instead, they sound more in line with those described by Will Bueche and John Velez.

Both of these guys eventually reported that reported abduction phenomena dropped off to almost zero by 1998 if memory serves me. That's a potentially valuable point for anyone wanting to pursue it.

Well it was happening to us in the mid-1960's.
Reports that indicate otherwise are incorrect or misleading.

Tell me exactly where we were supposed to report that in 1966? In 1961? In 1972? In 1974?

There were no avenues of support for abducted families, no reporting centers either.
Unless you went public and made the local news, then someone could find you, perhaps.

So to draw conclusions from such an under-reported era will not yield very useful information.

Well I've been following this stuff for 40 years and the "evidence" hasn't changed one bit. Just lots of beliefs and statements by old men (typically) who may or may not have been in the military.

Given the , quite literally, thousandfold increase in the number of cameras and the very high ISO of these cameras where is the thousandfold increase in video/still images? NOTHING

The best images are still the hub caps and dustbin lids from the 50's taken by certain mr Meyer!!!!

The only evidence is still textual transcripts written by witnesses.

The world is a far far busier place now than it was 50 years ago and yet all these visitors manage to come and go and never get seen........please come on......reality check.
