I will admit I'm HORRIBLE at grammar! To be honest though, I feel like it's not completely my fault. I don't really remember having much
English/Literature in middle or HS. The one English teacher I had (Mr. Norris) sat up at his desk drinking his coffee and looking at the sports
pages. He would occasionally ask one of the jocks about the game on Fri. night..but other than that we were left to our own devices
I can only
remember having Mr. Norris for one year out of four in HS. My parents weren't really into checking on our education..it was just come home, do the
work on my own, do the chores and go to bed..I never had instruction or parental concern..so where does that leave me? I did go to college (BFA in
Art Ed) the only English (101, 102) the lady was about 90 years old. We only read books she assigned, and then turned in small essays/reports. I
feel like I NEVER learned the proper way to speak, or write
Believe me..it's embarrassing! I try to learn the rules online..but it's difficult for
me. I just wish I had had better education growing up
Point is..don't always blame people..sometimes it is out of their control..I mean if a person wasn't taught from a young age the proper ways of doing
something..it becomes harder to figure out as an adult. I would love more than anything to speak, and write like they do on Downton Abbey or like the
Queen..but it's just not happening.
