I don't see Christians I know in my circle of friends, (I attend a mega church) who are trying to control anyones personal lives

Then you are in a good circle. Some Christians have tried to force beliefs on me and control me. Some have looked down on me with contempt.

other than the lives of their underage, at home children, which all parents have a right to do, regardless of their religion or political bent.

Not when they try to force their beliefs on them when they don't want it, especially when it comes to trying to change gay kids.

incorrect. for a long time (dark ages), all christians were pope-ians, not christians. now their christians. it wasn't their fault either because papacy hid the teachings from them.

What an interesting comment - among others.

It would be fun to entertain this conversation with you.

It's easy to say, "I don't hate Christians."

It's also easy to look back and say, "I've never said, I hate Christians".

Point 1. True Christians could give a rats ass. There are always people that are going to hate.

Point 2. People can hate all day long and never say the words, I hate Christians", and yet, can still hate Christians.

Point 3. The OP never called out any single individual. So why are so many responding? I think it is because they've been accused of hating Christianity in the past. Probably because of something they wrote.

So basically what you're saying is that both asking this question as well as answering it is pointless then because nobody can be trusted to say what they really mean or accept what others give as an answer.

But if that is the case then that goes equally for such statements as, "Hate the sin not the sinner", "I don't have gays I just don't like their lifestyle" or any other "Christians don't hate......".

You see it works both ways and if we can't trust each other or can't be honest in what we say or trust in what others tell us then there is no point in talking in the first place is there???

I've heard some Christians say they hate the sin, not the sinner.

In your opinion, does that mean they really hate the sinner?

I've had them tell me that when the topic of homosexuality was brought up.

Personally?

I'm a lousy Christian.

I'm rude, I dislike people, I hate people, I have a hard time forgiving others.

I'm an asshole.

But I'm trying to be a better person. And embracing the teachings of Jesus has certainly helped.

Don't beat yourself up man. Being a perfect human being is hard. What does it even mean? Is it even possible? Trying to be a better person and using the teachings of Christ to do so doesn't sound too lousy to me.

Man some of you really have a hard time coping with someone displaying decency toward you. Whats the problem Beezer, why can't you cope when someone says I don't hate you?

You're implication is everyone bothered tho come to this thread to tell a lie.

Buck up kiddo, not everyone swims in hatred till their fingers get wrinkles and gushy, give people the benefit of the doubt now and then and perhaps say, thanks, I don't hate you either for thinking differently to me.

Too hard for you?

okay.

just don't try to sell me any bridges. Just being realistic here.

If you aren't one of the haters, then you have nothing to worry about.

You are worried that some might be lying here in this thread.

I don't think that's the case in most part.

I dont hate any of you, calling me liar?

Sorry you can't cope with people making a honest comment like " my mum and best friend are Christian and I don't hate any of them" That's your issue not mine nor anyone else who bothered to come in and say no they don't hate christians.

Playing the victim doesn't suit you, may I suggest you don more becoming attire of a Christian? Something in a forgiving colour would bring out your complexion best.

I wouldn't sell you anything Beezer, you'd no doubt use it, destroy it and coming back demanding a refund and accusing me of not being honest to begin with. So lets keep commerce out of it k?

Not worried.

I just have a hard time trusting, believing people.

You don't believe it for the most part, do you think someone might be?
