I think that homosexuals should have every right given to heterosexuals but I would have to agree that the movement is getting a little tiresome. Its infiltrated almost every aspect of our society and I wish we could just give them the right to marry(or whatever you wanna call it) and move on. I may sound insensitive but man just get on with it already

I don't really disagree with you on that. I am pretty sure that is what they are after.

I think if anyone is to blame for LGBT issues becoming news so much it is the fault of those fighting against those things.

Duly noted that you're Canadian. I understand that they're a few steps ahead with equality there. This is an international site though and largely populated with citizens of a country where that's just not the reality, so you'll hear about it a fair bit on here. I dunno what prompted your outcry against it but that's what this forum is for. Unless you were just looking to get mobbed? To illustrate a point that your unpopular opinions bring out venom in others? It's been illustrated.

But one venom filled person speaking out against you doesn't represent an entire movement, or the entire "PC crowd" (not certain what the working definition of that is). I don't like PC whether it benefits me or not I think that it's artificial and creates disingenuous interactions. But, one can engage in respectful discourse without political correctness, and if one is unable then it's likely a function of shoddy communication skills rather than oppression from some theoretical thought policing.

1.) to have the exact same rights as you.
2.) to not have bigotry and hate shoved down our throats in the name of a falsely held view of what a radical, liberal, compassionate Middle Eastern man said.
3. the same damn rights as you
4.) to stop having a heterofascist view forced on us.
5.) those Constitutional rights you have? we want them too
6.) did I mention we want the same protections.

Kind of Ironic given what Spock always says about the needs of the many..When did 2-6% became the "many"?

Firstly I don't whine. I discuss, and what I say in the OP is not forcing my own opinions or making those a norm as PC does. I just express what I feel.

You started this thread to complain about what others think is important enough to discuss. Then you also felt free to carry on about what's wrong with gay people and why they deserve your insults

You complained about how badly you feel when others complain about what you want to say...

You can't have it both ways. There are others here at ATS that consistently do the same thing - they whine when people complain about what they're saying then angrily proclaim that they're anti PC. So long as it's not their version of what is PC. In other words - they demand the right to say what they want to say without everybody criticizing it :-)

You either get this or you don't. You aren't just discussing - you're complaining (about a few different things) and then suggesting (if not outright demanding) that people with opinions that are different from your own discuss things that are more important. Important to you

Secondly, I never had problems with gay people and I still don't as long as they keep their business to themselves and it doesn't affect me.

:-)

Yes your word wasn't polite and not deserved.

I don't have a problem with you as long as you keep to yourself and you don't affect me. When you tell me not to discuss something because it annoys you - well...

No - it wasn't PC of me, and it wasn't nice. It wasn't intended to be either. Why does this bother you?

Like I said - you either get this - or you don't

What rights do you not have? Serious question.

BTW I haven't noticed the same trend as OP, though I do notice there are disproportionately many stories on Google news (not the part I personalise). Like every other news topic, they go away when people stop clicking them.

Enough with LGBT threads and outcry.

There is no day that goes by without a thread on this subject.

And I'm curious, how many members here want to lash out on this but they can't or prefer not to in the name of political correctness?

Who is it you're reacting to? :-)

People are free to say what they want to say. This is the only thing that matters. When we say things that offend others - others will let us know

If more injustice is happening to the LGBT community, then it will be discussed. Just because you don't love yoir neighbour as yourself doesn't mean everyone feels the same.

Compassion is the key to peace. Everyone should be treated fairly.

in North America, LGBTQ represent about 4 - 5% of the entire population.

The voice of the LGBTQ community is far louder than it should be, given their representation in society.

It's the same with the NRA. They represent about 1% of the population of the USA, but their voice is way louder than it should be.

For millennia, evolution has been about survival of the fittest. It's now all about making sure that every voice has been heard, and that every little group has their opinion, regardless of how large those groups are.

I'm a huge supporter of LGBTQ Issues, but I their representation in the media far outweighs the relevance of their group as a whole. I dislike the fact that every tv show now needs some sort of gay character, that every movie and story now needs some sort of gay issue, regardless of whether it's out of place in the main story.

I'm also against adoption of kids by LGBTQ. I support equal rights, but sometimes, when you are not part of the natural way of doing things, you need to give up certain things that are part of the natural progression.

Yet it still seems that it isn't loud enough to achieve equality.

Are you familiar with how a republic works? If you are referring to the US you should. Evolution and survival of the fittest is meant to describe the natural world we do not base society or laws around it.

BTW did you know in the animal kingdom where homosexuality appears those animals are still excepted by their genus?

I am a huge supporter of equality and that overlaps with much of what the LGBT are trying to accomplish. As far as media goes you can turn the channel or read a book if it is really that big of a deal to you.

I'm also against adoption of kids by LGBTQ. I support equal rights, but sometimes, when you are not part of the natural way of doing things, you need to give up certain things that are part of the natural progression.

There is a big difference between claiming to support equal rights and actually supporting it. You seem to actually fall short of supporting equal rights and with over 102,000 children in foster care waiting to be adopted your position isn't helping them.

Great rant. I wonder how the folks defending what you address would feel if everyone started demanding "rights" because of their own personal should-be-private practices. I suspect they would be annoyed in short order. The entire topic is about sexual practices, which have somehow been repackaged into being a "lifestyle", when we'd all be happier of people kept their personal business personal. Unless someone is a very close friend, I really do not want to know what they are doing, or with whom, in the bedroom. Criminal activity excluded, of course. Anyone after a kid, well, that person is a menace. Anyone forcing others, same thing.

Otherwise, can bedroom activities please stay there? Why does anyone think that they need approval for something that is supposed to be between two people?? Stay out of my face with it if you don't want to hear my opinion, and accept that I don't have to agree with your choices or approve!

You'll just come off as a hater posting this...I feel you, I am just dumb founded if you a certain race or sexuality that it's just something you jabber about. I get through entires day...if not months not talking about my whiteness, my maleness or my straightness. If you are born a certain way, then great. It just seems too many people make too many shots at jumping on the soap box.
I tried to get the point out in this thread, some got it, some didn't. No lose of sleep for me, was a social experiment.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I'm sorry people's equality isn't moving at a faster pace, but no doubt things in my 46 years on earth have changed greatly. Making me have no rights to speak of my "godly gifts" while making me sit in a deluge of yours won't help. (I'm not speaking of the o.p. here) I always read, "if you don't like ____you don't have to participate. That's very true, but I'm tired of being barraged. I have NEVER made someone feel lesser for their sexual orientation, if anything I have steeped up for those that needed it. At any rate, I understand the frustration.

LGBTQ?

How many letters are they going to make it? Until they include everyone offended by being left out?

What's next, the LGBTQBDSMBBWNSAMILF community? Pretty soon we're going to need acronyms for acronyms.

In reading blog/forum/Youtube comments nowadays, you can't help but notice how strident and savage are the Gay Thought Police, ready to shout down or cauterize anyone who dares to protest their antagonisms, much like the Red Brigade laid waste during Mao's Cultural Revolution.

that said I fear you'll someday regret posting this thread when the inevitable backlash against LGBT's hits
you'll feel as if you contributed to it.

politicians and the boys and girls with the 7+figure bank accounts are only pushing for equal rights for LGBT as a trojan horse
to stealthily push their own sado-paedophilic tendencies, and as an excuse to sanction and create disruptions in other countries. hence:
the push to expose children in schools at an early age ["sex before eight, or else it's too late" ring any bells?]
all the russian homophobia meme, truth is gays have equal rights over there, it's the extreme promotion, especially with regards to the previous point that's banned [and any kind of NGO for that matter].*

if you think what's going on in uganda is horrible, wait till you see the "made in america" version when TPTB decide it's time to throw the entire LGBT movement to the mob as a scapegoat.

*but the defenders of pissy riot et al, will hiss and screech when its pointed out that doing pervy stuff in front of school children is what got them arrested.
truth is these degraded... whatevers, they're not even women anymore, just biological sex dolls due to the brainwashing they've been put through, by their "men".
after all, a protest consisting of being sodomized publicly, can't possibly be helping womens right's.

So is that what you do, any time anyone calls you on your BS you then attempt to deflect it with some sort of they must be gay insult?

Insecure much with your own sexuality?
What wrong, afraid the gays are gonna getcha?

Lol, what a chump.

And that's what you do when someone doesn't think the same as you? Name call his opinion as BS and when the person is willing to stand for his own opinions, start insulting and gaying up the conversation as a method of psychological pressure?

perfect example of what i'm predicting, they think you're homophobic so they irrationaly, and illogically poke at you,
hoping for a violent reaction, so they can claim they're being attacked, the tactic is straight from the US foreign policy manual, btw, making them no different than the xtians [OH! THE IRONY!].
of course they'll only do this anonymously from the internet, or under protection of government guns.
thus they think they've got society and the world by the ass, but what they've really got is a TIGER BY THE TAIL.
so much for "live and let live" eh?

We need to fight to Keep homosexual propaganda out of prime time viewing, and we also need to start charging parents and schools with corruption of a minor every time they try and support some child that thinks the are the opposite sex. A male child that believes he is a girl, or vice versa is not a child coming to the realization that they are the opposite trapped in the current body. It is a child that has developed a mental illness as a result of the barrage of homosexual propaganda that is targeting peoples minds for corruption.

Institutions have spent countless billions over six decades studying exactly how your brain works. These children think their thoughts are their own, but they were placed there on purpose with purpose by the evil establishment who knows exactly what combination of drugs, food additives, and subliminal signals that only register in the subconscious can manipulate that brain into following the line of thought it is being programmed for.

Maybe if the gays spent half as much time as they do frolicking half naked and performing lewd and obscene acts at their forced public pride parades and channeled that into auditing the FED, this country can get somewhere.

Now feed me your fire, and watch my powers grow!!

The entire topic is about sexual practices, which have somehow been repackaged into being a "lifestyle", when we'd all be happier of people kept their personal business personal.

This is only about sex because the people who don't like what gay people do in private have decided it's about sex

It's about gender preference and the right to live their lives as openly and freely as anyone else without discrimination and abuse

The fact that one group of people thinks it has the right to tell everyone how they should live their lives is why you hear so much about it. Gay people are so uppity like that - all annoyed because people think they're wicked. Funny thing is it's not just the gay people that are making a fuss - it's all people that believe in freedom and equality. We're not actually thinking at all about the sex part - just the freedom and equality part. Seems like it should be a no-brainer, but it looks like a brain is important to understanding this after all

If some people insist on making this about sex, that's up to them I guess, but it's a total giveaway

I imagine that as soon as everyone is treated equally (at least by law) you'll stop hearing about all this and what they do in private already will still be private - the only difference is you'll be able to (maybe, hopefully) move on and turn your attention to other, more important things. Whatever they might be
