Son of man, direct your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince, leader of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy concerning him. Say: Thus said the Lord: Behold, I am against you, Gog, the prince, leader of Meshech and Tubal...Persia, Cush and Put will be with you...also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.
The Peace of God to all that belong to the Light,

The fact is that all the different nations that are mentioned in the alliance against Israel belong the a very specific geographical area, that is located to the north of the levant, in the mountains that come from the Anatolia Peninsula toward north Persia, that for centuries were the mother land of Kurds and Armenians, those highlands that separate the low lands of Iraq and Syria from the valleys of Georgia and Azerbaidjan.
The point is that long chain of plateaus and mountains of eastern Turkey are precisely right now the territory that ISIS is gaining control and from which it is launching furious attacks toward the Iraq and Syria armies in the south but also against the Turkish military forces to the North east.
38 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him 3 and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you,Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. 4 I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. 5 Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, 6 also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.
Answer: The phrase principalities and powers occurs six times in the Bible, always in the King James Version and its derivatives (NKJV, MKJV). Other versions translate it variously as “rulers and authorities,” “forces and authorities,” and “rulers and powers.” In every place where the phrase appears, the contexts make it clear that it refers to the vast array of evil and malicious spirits who make war against the people of God. The principalities and powers of Satan are in view here, beings that wield power in the unseen realms to oppose everything and everyone that is of God.
7 “‘Get ready; be prepared, you and all the hordes gathered about you, and take command of them. 8 After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety. 9 You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.
I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army
10 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme. 11 You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. 12 I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the center of the land.[d]” 13 Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all her villages[e] will say to you, “Have you come to plunder? Have you gathered your hordes to loot, to carry off silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods and to seize much plunder?”’
“‘After the seven months they will carry out a more detailed search. 15 As they go through the land, anyone who sees a human bone will leave a marker beside it until the gravediggers bury it.

But ISIS doesn't threaten Israel... ISIS really only does most of its damage in Syria and Iraq, and it is losing ground in both of those countries. ISIS will be a forgotten terrorist group in as little as 2 - 3 years. Mark my words.

In the book of Revelation, the people who are martyred for Christ during the last times are beheaded (the saints under the alter who have been beheaded for their allegiance to Jesus), which supports your argument.

Because they aren't powerful enough yet. It is a main part of their larger strategy, to eventually destroy Israel.

There's a reason why news on the ISIS front has been quiet. There isn't much to report. Let's see, doing a cursry glance at news related to ISIS, ISIS hacked some French website, a few countries are looking forward to bombing ISIS, ISIS has freed some Yazidi captives, and an ISIS mass grave was found. No news about ISIS gaining ground though.

Sure don't trust the media. That let's you invent your own reality that ISIS isn't anything but a very regional threat to two destabilized countries. They certainly will NEVER be a threat to Israel.
Losing 25% of the territory you took originally (which was already a small area to begin with). That's certainly the promising outlook of a group poised to become an international threat...
ISIS is that surrounding force that will try to rally people to their side to become very strong to surround Israel and will be UTTERLY destroyed by GOD HIMSELF.

it's always been my understanding that the USSR / Russia hates the Jews. Of course they hate a lot of people.
any ideas how the 'ten kings' come into play here? Somebody said that this would come down to Iran (Shia) & puppets vs a Sunni confederation ('ten kings').
IIRC Persia (Iran) will join Gog/Magog in the attack on Israel? (moslems unite!)
Somebody on tv (Perry Stone?) suggested that Gog/Magog is Turkey. One wonders what part that nation will play in the next few years.
