No, we will never be in concord over this issue until the Knesset isn't ruled by psychopaths.

Why does this relationship need to exist? I see it as parasitic. What does Israel do for America? Aside from leaving America alienated from most of the ME?

It's similar to the role China plays with North Korea. It's a one sided relationship but it's our fault Israel is in the position they're currently in to destabilize the region/world. If we don't give them alternatives to starting wars, then that's precisely what they're going to do and we're not going to like the outcome when the world unites against them and Israel decides to use their Samson option in order to take as many people with them as possible.

The world has already united against them - they just don't believe it.
What is the "Samson" option?

Which is why I chose the US instead of Israel. They are the REAL muscle behind the Knesset. Which may have led to 911. Just a theory.

If Israel is to fall they unleash the nukes they have. Take everyone they can with them.

Its a supposed "defence" doctrine to deter agression and force international help.

The supposed theory is if Israel goes down they will take as many enemies and allies down with them in a massive nuclear attack.

When the loggers cut down a living tree are in fact the ones that killed the tree. The people that buy the furniture are benefiting from the actions of the logger who killed the tree.

But the logger wouldn't be cutting trees if there was not a desire for the lumber, he would probably be making booze with a still and cutting way less trees to run the still.

They may be opposed to Israel, but the world has yet to unite and take military action. The "Samson Option" is Israel's last ditch nuclear plan. If they're invaded their plan is to launch their entire nuclear arsenal at densely populated civilian centers around the world (not just enemies) in order to kill as many people as possible.

It's their ultimate deterrent, they do this not just to make people think twice about attacking them, but in order to convince others to help them. If the US were to not support Israel and they got into a war they were losing, as part of this doctrine Israel would nuke US cities on their way down. For example, if Iran were to attack Israel and be on the verge of winning Israel would use their nuclear weapons not just against Iran but they would also send some to Beijing, Moscow, New York City, Washington DC, Delhi, Paris, and London as punishment for those nations not backing them up.

That's why I voted that they are the worst danger. ANd what it up with not participating in the IAEA (or whatever alphabet thing - the International oversight group on nuclear armaments)....Int'l Atomic Energy Agency thing. HOW THE HELL do they get away with that?

No - I think they will cut loose, and it will cause the obliteration of the entire Middle East.

Supply and demand. If there isn't a demand there would be no supply. Basic capitalism.

I believe most lumber has been cleared to make way for agriculture. So is the lumberjacks fault or the gardens fault?

Like I said, not necessarily palatable.

I see our relationship with them in two ways. Israel acts as a target for anti-Western venom and at the same time protecting them helps to stabilize that region. It's far more complex than just Israel's leaders are jerks so we should drop them.

Parasitic yes, but both ways.

It's not truly just Israel as the Saudi's, Jordan and Egypt share enemies with Israel. I'd imagine they like the status quo in Israel right now. It contains the whole situation into one small area and seldom spills over into their space. Although Yemen is changing the game board a bit right now.

...and this differs from the USA's Skynet-inspired Cray XC Trinity supercomputer failsafe, Russia's Dead Hand failsafe, and China's rumored High Altitude EMP weapon in what way? Hell, how does it differ from North Korea's almost certain edict that they launch nukes hilly-nilly should Dear Leader be brought to heel in an attack?

As I can't moderate a thread I'm active in can I just ask that you two get a room and leave this topic for nonpersonal discussion?

They're all bluffs.

Here is why...no, we do not have enough nuclear weapons to wipe every single human off the planet (well, we do, but to actually wipe us all out, everybody that is against everybody else would have to get along long enough to plan their 'doomsday' targets in a concentrated effort...and if they are capable of doing that, then we aren't exactly starring doom in the eyes, now are we?). Every global leader knows this. Anybody that employs a dead-man that endangers the species, is going to find the most important thing compromised.

Their legacies.

If Israel does it, there won't be a record of Judaism left, let alone a Jew.

If Russia does it, future generations will never know that there was ever a Russia or Russians.

US, the same.

Etc, etc, etc.

The survivors will liquidate ever trace of the country that does it. It has happened in our past (the removal from history, not the doom), and it will happen again in our future.

It's all doom porn for the masses, and that is it.
