Yeah, i get that.

But in this story they were killed by having bleach added to their water. THey were basically chlorine gassed to death.

You can also do that by burying a few pennies in the gravel. The copper seeps into the water.

My point is that fish are fish. It's not like a cat or dog. Hell, if you don't know what you're doing most of your fish are going to die anyways. That type of ecosystem is hard to maintain over time.

I'm not excusing this. Personally I'd be pissed BUT there is a difference between fish and other beings that we keep.

Some gold fish actually do mean alot to people whether it's
a kid, person or professional. Many gold fish are highly trained
to do incredible tricks such as being herded through obstacles
by the trainer using his hands outside of the dish or aquarium.
They don't touch the fish, the fish respond to the trainer.

Also many gold fish are trained to come for food & just to come
& react to different situations. So saying they don't mean anything
to anyone or that their life doesn't matter or have meaning is just
ludicrous.

However the main point is that this women TORTURED & KILLED
these innocent creatures for nothing but to hopefully hurt her ex.
Just sick!

Cheers
Ektar

I know your post was sarcastic, but I am not. They are murderers. They chose to go into a war zone to kill for money.

Did you read his post as "veterans" and not "veterinarians"?

Genius... Way to blow your anti-veteran load on poor reading comprehension.

I'm going to be a billionaire when I invent a way to throat punch people through the internet.

This made me lol. Not even going to bother addressing what it's a response to though

I get your point but let's change the scenario:

Woman kills boyfriend's dog by pouring bleach in its water bowl!

Still no big deal?

dog smarter

wouldn't drink it

point taken, but lost.

???

Better?

To those that are upset with the charges, answer me this.

If you owned a goldfish as a pet, or maybe they were your children's pet, and someone intentionally killed them how would you react?

Would you support charges then?

I don't know. Unless they were very special very expensive fish maybe. But I don't see people forming an emotional bond with goldfish. Dogs yes. But dogs are capable of returning affection while a gold fish won't even respond emotionally to its own offspring.
Animal Abuse is animal abuse. She killed a man's pets. What right do we have to assign higher value to a dog, or even a "more expensive fish"? Killing a person's pet is wrong, no matter how small. She could have thrown his ant colony in the dumpster and I'd still agree with the charges.

We have to assign values to them to buy and sell them. Is it wrong that a dog costs more than a fish?

I love my dog, but I wouldn't expect someone to pay more than a new one of the same breed.

Guilty for fish killing. 0.12c restitution.

Some of you are not getting it. Not about the value of a fish..if you cant see it..meh shouldn't have to explain it.

We work for our local health services doing environmental tests for grow ops ect. We walked into one house (condemned for grow op)in the middle of winter where there were 2 tanks full of frozen fish. Not sure if they were goldfish or tilapia but any way's somewhat disturbing. Not fair for our city to cut off services without removing the fish. Am sure that would never happen if there were puppies or kittens involed.

Exactly. That's the whole point.

It's the fact that this broad is a violent, emotionally volatile and dangerous person was the reason they stretched the charges here. They wanted to get her on charges that would mean longer sentencing because they feel she is a danger to society, and misdemeanor charges were simply not good enough.

She is a classic bunny boiler. One minute she is stalking and terrorizing you by killing your pets, the next, she's breaking into your house and trying to kill your kids.

It's not like people are going to be put in prison for feeding crickets to lizards.

Its common when the cops arrest someone for them to throw the book at them and arrest them for anything and everything they possibly can.

This is done so it gives the DA more things to work with during a plea deal.

I'm feeling kind of nervous... I bought the Costco 10 pack of whole trout, cooked them up real good on the grill, ate them too...

Should I even be saying this on an open forum?
