Its not in the bible, that is the sticking point
Because all answers may be found in that badly written anthology
Like I've said before, revealed religions tend to breed lazy thinking.

I'm an avid science defender, and always will be because it directly benefits our species and could be the difference in us surviving the next extinction level event or going extinct.

I wouldn’t be the first person to express dismay at the cavalier attitude science takes towards tinkering with the fundamental building blocks of our existence. Lets slam a few of these together and see what happens “boom”, lets make matter so small that it can pass between the blood brain barrier and see if we can make some useful “sludge”

Let's use our latest discovery, that could really benefit mankind, but weaponise it, so we can see how many people it can atomise first. Lets introduce a virus into the environment to kill off all those pesky rabbits, lets introduce a new predator species into the environment so that it will eat those other pests, lets genetically modify our staple crops so that they can soak up deadly toxins without damaging its appearance.

lets create a whole new strain of wheat or corn that cannot reproduce itself and assume it won’t contaminate the food baskets of the world. Take that deadly virus that is slow to spread and see what happens if we make it airborne. Lets make an energy source that is so clean it will take several billions of years to make its waste product safe to be released into the environment.

Lets transmit a few million watts of electromagnetic energy into the upper atmosphere and see if we can communicate with submarines deep under the sea without affecting the weather or climate.

I could fill a few pages with this stuff. I don’t know whether you have noticed or not, but there is a direct correlation between our technological advancement and our diminishing freedom surrendered to corporate controlled governments. The entire planet is awash with electromagnetic radiation from every device imaginable, drugs are being created that are designed to alleviate the symptoms for the last wonder drug invented, Autism, diabetes, cancer, endocrine systems mutilation, immune systems destroyed, diseases killing people on an unprecedented scale.

Science is smart right, save us from the next ELE right. The odds are that science will create the next extinction of our species, all because a naive public believes that science has somehow become omniscient. Humanity as a species has collectively lost the plot, we are paying scientist to benefit our species through our taxes and supposedly regulated by our governments.

Science will destroy humanity, says team of scientists

Paper

I don’t believe atheists are bad or irresponsible or any different to any body else, but I feel that because as a trait, it appears that most atheists will not accept anything that is intangible, and yet they watch TV's picking up signals they can't see, or talk on phones that are detached from the physical. why can't they accept there is much more than can't be detected with the physical senses that are not artefacts of technology.

Everybody dies in the physical body and gets to do it all over again, so maybe this is our collective lesson for a future life, maybe humanity will learn to live in harmony with each other and the planet. To be honest I can’t see it happening this time around. Humanity will go extinct as sure as eggs, Maybe Humanity Ver.04 will do a little better after this collective experience. It’s just people suffering that upsets me.

To me it just sounds like states of mind and consciousness, rather than other dimensions or planes of existence.

Can’t you see that the intangible mind can freely move through dimensions of reality, your body can’t, as it is seated in the physical world. Your mind is capable of traveling through every dimension. As our consciousness evolves it will be capable of travelling anywhere. Once you fully understand that even the physical world is just a collection of signals received by our brains and interpreted by our consciousness, the concept shouldn’t be so hard to understand.

A scientist does not casually spend time focusing his attention on his subject, he acquires knowledge and understands it rather than simple comprehension, there is a big difference. He does that by intense study, pushing his consciousness into the mental plane. That is how he has become an expert in his field. Can you even imagine wasting your time not studying facts and trying to discover with your five (physical) senses the processes that make the world tick, but that is you! and other scholarly minds, it is what you do, it is your nature. You are trained and honed to observe the objective.

The way society has devolved, the vast majority of humanity seems to be only interested in entertaining themselves, feeding their emotional or physical needs, little wonder really as everyone has to work long hours just to survive. Slipping in and out of the physical plane, emotional plane and mental planes.

To stay focused in the mental plane is considered by most as work, and in a way it is, this is why some people love their work and others hate it. If it doesn’t interest you, it is a chore, so back to the emotional world as soon as possible for some fun every chance we get. The emotional plain is humanities comfort zone.

A spiritualist or devout person does not casually access his causal consciousness, the same as a scientist does not casually visit the mental plane. It is an acquired and also a regulated gateway to understanding. I am not talking about a conversation with God, I am referring to accessing a universal knowledge made available to us all, through a condition or state of the mind. The more it is exercised the easier we can slip into it effortlessly. Nobody should ever ignore strong intuition or belittle it. It will change your life or even save your life, it is never wrong about anything. You can prove this to yourself and must have acted on it many times without identifying what it is.

I have by no means mastered this, but I have found it, I recognise it, and it is getting stronger. I believe it is the inevitable future evolution of humanity, as more people develop their causal awareness, If we can survive that long.

The key is to be open to it.

As long as the academic mind rejects the subjective non tangible, the longer it will take before he can access the truth of reality.

Can you now see the barrier that atheists and scientists have in common. They have closed the conduit to reality by training their minds to live in the mental and only ever examining the objective. I am not saying he does not access his causal consciousness casually, which most people do, but you must trust and recognise it and train yourself to look for it.

Seek and you will find ..(Listen to your heart, gut feeling, causal consciousness)...My fathers house has many rooms, (the source of all living things is multi-dimensional)...The kingdom of God is within you... (Your consciousness is the door to all dimensions of reality)

You permanently live in at least the first three of those dimensions.

When you die you just shed the first one along with your etheric interface.

Yet people are living longer average age is increasing not going the other way, some of the diseases you mention are due to AGE and DIET !

Diseases can be diagnosed now which would not have happened in the past , and cause of death would be guessed or wrongly diagnosed.

Strange that the belief of the god most people refer to on here as the creator of everything, was confined to such a small area of this pale blue dot, I mean if he could create everything why not have his message in all parts of the globe at the same time, the reason is simple MAN created god!

Science WON'T kill humanity IDIOTS using the discoveries could ! A gun won't kill you unless someone points it at you and pulls the trigger, a car wont kill you unless you are careless or somebody runs you down.

I think the jury is still out on that statement wmd_2008, The people who are passing the average life duration now, where raised in a different time to now. All I see are friends dying all around me and I am not that old.

I agree with you right up to the 'Man created God' part.

I firmly believe that all religions stemmed from the same knowledge and it was universal.

I don't wish to upset Christians or any religious people but God is not what you believe him to be, it is not even appropriate to refer to God as a he, but the word God as a euphemism for a creator or sentient energy that exists in everything is a useful term to use because we all can relate to what it means to people.

LOL I thought about Oppenheimer and didn't want to say anything till you mentioned him.

Here's a few quotes by Oppenheimer and Einstein:

[When asked “Dr. Einstein, why is it that when the mind of man has stretched so far as to discover the structure of the atom we have been unable to devise the political means to keep the atom from destroying us?”] That is simple, my friend. It is because politics is more difficult than physics.

I am become death, The Shatterer of Worlds.

If atomic bombs are to be added as new weapons to the arsenals of a warring world, or to the arsenals of nations preparing for war, then the time will come when mankind will curse the names of Los Alamos and Hiroshima. The people must unite, or they will perish.

-Oppenheimer

I remember learning that they regretted ever discovering such thing but I am too drunk to find anything lol.

I can't even start to imagine what they must have felt when the reality of their contribution to humanity hit home, Still didn't stop it happening though.

Even more disturbing is that Father George Zabelka, a Catholic chaplain blessed the bomb that killed 140,000 people and that was just Hiroshima.

Very interesting and moving post, but here is what is unclear to me...

First of all, let me introduce myself and still try to be anonymous.
Born and raised without any religion, learned to question everything, and as you'll find out, English is my second language... (perhaps more correct way to say it would be 3rd
)

Here is what I feel you did not address in your post - what is alternative??

Even with all advances in genetics, biology, food industry,... we still have people dying of hunger. Could we produce enough food for everyone without use of technology??

I do agree, we produce all kind of waves (electronics, TV, phone... ), but in nature there are many of them already around... Some of them we believe lead to some of earlier ELE.

And finally, let me answer your question. Even I don't see waves my phone uses to communicate with local tower without tools made for that, I can actually see them using tools specially built for that like on this video video.

When something like that can show/point to existence of supreme being, I would believe it. But so far, except historical need to create 'gods' and attribute them with many things, from rain, droughts to monotheistic/Abrahamic god, it is quite clear who created whom and for what purpose...

Thank you for your post, but no thank you...

We (humans) should move forward, not backward....

Hello Superfrog, nice to meet you.

I can't see why the world cannot produce enough food to provide for its current relatively low population using relatively low technology and keeping in harmony with the planet. All that is required is the will to achieve it.

As it stand now the world food supply is controlled by large corporations. There is a tendency for some humans to try to control entire populations by taking control of a nations essentials such as food, water, housing etc corporations buy up arable land and intensely farm using every trick they can muster to lower costs and keep prices and profits as high as possible.

The trend for the last 20 yrs or so has been globalisation, an attempt to homogenise labour costs and also to price fix to pressure alternative supplies and methods out of the market to force monopolies.

We have been told and sold globalisation as/is a good thing. However I would like to start a new movement call localisation where resources are used to turn non food productive areas into self sustaining low impact food production zones. Town sized area, spotted across each country within easy access to most people.

The goal ultimately to reduce the need to ship or transport food over great distances reducing the need for complex preservation techniques or the over use of packaging. Bearing in mind that these food production areas only need to serve the local community scale of production would not need broad-acre production and most growing could be conducted in poly-tunnels or carbon fibre greenhouses as a closed system to preserve water.

hydroponics and aquaculture plus an increase in CO2 to around 600 to 700ppm can create amazing crop all year round. arable areas fed by ocean desalination powered by solar and piped in a broad grid with tributaries to trickle feed water to the growing areas, Temperature control using solar or wind for refrigerated air.

Non of these systems would require overly large solar farms or wind farms because scale would be relatively low. The key to success for such a project would be efficiency in both method and management. There a huge areas of the planets land mass that is desert. Science if it pulled it's finger out has the capability to re-terra form, reclaim and tame those areas. I think all the technology and technical know how already exists to pull of a project like that all that is required is the will and the resources.

How much does the world spend on its defence budget each year again,
How many unemployed people do we have in the world.
The 1,000,000 dollar question is will it make a profit, probably not because the money would remain in the community and not paid out to shareholders Will it feed the world, in my view without a doubt. Would there be people who would be unhappy about it ??????????

is quite clear who created whom and for what purpose... Thank you for your post, but no thank you...
We (humans) should move forward, not backward..

You mean move forward as in self annihilation because that is a very strong possibility.

It would be interesting to be a cockroach on the wall of an archeological dig in the year 3 million and one or listen in on an anthropological team of some future civilisation, trying to make sense of an ancient people that seemed to be thriving, suddenly disappeared off the face of the Earth, discover the Georgia Guidestones with a final message.

We the people of the Earth having never achieved the goal of becoming a type 1 civilisation finally gave up the ghost and destroyed ourselves through bad management, bad attitude, bad behaviour, and really really bad Karma. While they marvel at the architectural genius of the Egyptian civilisation that must have come much later because of their enduring knowledge of astronomy their metaphysical knowledge and creative arts.

That is a very interesting chart and really it deserves it's own thread, the point is well made, science has the potential to led to evil, the scientists themselves are not evil per say. But their discoveries are put to nefarious uses. "Atomics" are the example that was used, it has killed thousands and threatened billions(MAD)

As it relates to this topic if science can come up with ideas, philosophies, hypothesis and theories that led people to justify to themselves at an intellectual level to not believe in the bible and God, then it contributes to a kind of spiritual suicide, and that is way worse than a nuclear bomb, or even the physical death a person could have from it.

Matthew 10:28

Don't be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

All we can do is throw people the "life savior" if they are drowning in a sea philosophical error started by science, if they choose to push it away and latter drown, at least we tried.

Yes, but it's pretty infographic hyperbole isn't it? adds a splash of colour to the page I think, I like grey but it certainly benefits from an aesthetic viewpoint.

Do you like colours daskakik? I only ask because I thought I might be able to tease more than a sentence out of you in support of your criticism. I do have a tendency to go off topic a little bit, but only because I view things more holistically and so it always tends to broaden the conversation away from the same old arguments that sees religion pitted against atheism.

We are all the same of course, same species I mean, (uman beans), All we need to do is treat each other with a little dignity and respect rather than exasperated impatience and egotistical point scoring and who knows a discussion on evolution could even become a pleasant experience. Any way thanks for popping in.
