Thanks for sharing your story, your legend. Going by your title I would say that its always good to know where information comes from. As this is important, sure there are some parrots around but its best to look at the deeper meaning of life. A deep message is not for the superficial, one needs to know on what level a message pertains to. I would summarize your title in this way : The illusion is like the blackboard and the chalk, duality opposites. Love however can be shared but not soiled. Only the blackboard can be stained. Love is what cleans but remains unseen, is always available but mostly ignored. In comparison to love everything is an illusion.

Seems to me you are confusing yourself that evil is the opposite of love. In my opinion, evil is the opposite of good. Hate is the opposite of love. In order for either to be an illusion they would both have to be. One cannot exist without the other. You can not have light if there is no dark. Being a parent is difficult and we are inclined to want to protect, but sometimes it is necessary to allow children to find out the answers for themselves. The lessons we learn and the advice we give are for us to share, but not for us to impose.

I think it is wonderful that you have overcome the obstacles to get where you are, but they made you who you are and that is what we all need to learn. Anything worthwhile is not easy. There will always be "evil" in this world, but there will always be "good" too. Balance is necessary, but 40% love will beat 60% hate.

Enjoy them while they are young, they grow up quickly!

Evil is based on ignorance and an inner corruption of an aspect of the soul or psyche.

It’s a matrix based response to stimuli and experience ALL based on this corruption that is a reality.

What’s evil about evil is that is causes suffering

Evil will end when this corruption is resolved

Its NOT based on yin yang!

The lack of one emotion isn't very good for your personal well being. I'll try the spectrum of emotions and make a logical assessment as to what one is needed for whatever situation.

anyone that believes that Evil doesn't exist only needs to talk to a survivor of sexual abuse to realise how utterly STUPID and naive they are.

Good cannot exist without evil. We cannot banish the evil from our lives. We cannot completely protect people around us from negative things. Life is about balance and acceptance. Acknowledge evil both in yourself and others. Accept it for what it is and move along.

There are only two emotions that exist; fear and love. Everything else is derived from these two elements. Evil does not exist. As with all things in this plane, it is conceptual. What one sees as evil an other does not. Everything is based on your model of the world and this applies to everyone. Based on my model of the world, what Hitler did was atrocious but based on Hitler's model of the world in his mind what he did was "right". Simply put, the meaning of everything is the meaning you give it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Evil?....Love?....

There is only relativity and balance and people think they are somehow in a special position to have a say in something they have no say in....

Balance drifts around like the poles of the earth do and humans, puny humans, have little to nothing to do with it.

Those entities which try not to disrupt the natural balance of things look forward to us humans' destroying ourselves.

If we don't know what's wrong, then it cannot be made right. Life to me is trial and error. Often the trials lead us on paths or quests that allow for errors to be made in order to find the solution, albeit if the solution or answer is part of the objective.

Good and bad go hand in hand, is it possible to know one without the other, IMO no, however that's the beauty of choice. We can choose either good or bad, but also choose to make right our errors or just continue in ignorance until we find out what we're doing is incorrect or someone or something corrects us and we decide to change course.

Of course it's not just as easy as that, but knowing what's sour, one can only enjoy the sweet things in life.

Good luck

Try watching a video of ISIS beheading people, or cutting off the breast of underaged girls, or bashing infants up against the wall to watch their heads explode while they laugh. Then tell me there is nothing but love. You clearly have been way too protected and your eyes shielded from truth. Yeah...i suppose you're right in one way, evil people LOVE to do these things.

Wrong. people who are getting their heads cut off in the middle east have fear....the aggressors hate them and openly admit it. Yes, they LOVE cuttingtheir heads off...but if they are not evil, then I guess there is none. Please don't tell me you think they are full of love for those people heads that they cut off. Hate is a destructive emotion, that instills the outcome of fear.

I brought my daughter, the most beautiful being I have laid eyes on into this world full of scum#s and it terrifies me. My girlfriend thinks I'm overly paranoid and focus too much on the negative- while I think she is naive and buys into the "all is well, evil is just illusion" ideology. Which I think is irresponsible and dangerous way of thinking- give me a #ing break. but, at the same time I do not want to be consumed by hatred towards hatred and evil itself, and become bitter and unable to enjoy the good things in life- which through all the chaos and stupidity that goes on here I know there are still good things to enjoy on this earth.

I understand exactly what you're saying my friend, there is no way around those feelings after bringing something so innocent into this crazy existence. Like others here have said, worry and anxiety will not help the situation though.

The most logical thing that you can do is try to raise her as good as you can, and hope for the best. The truth of the matter is that some day we all have no choice but to throw our most cherished love to the wolves of this insane World. ~$heopleNation

Just FYI, I'm an atheist, meaning that I don't believe in religion's views of what "god" is. I don't believe in "God". I believe in Love (light, good).

I don't believe in religion's view of GOD, either. After reading your post, I have very high belief in you as you sound like me, previously. I was an atheist for 54 years. Coincidentally, I was a fool for 54 years as well. The LORD allowed me to wander, and I wander no more. I will express my concern for you, to CREATOR. I know for fact that you are scheduled to "stop wandering," but of course I know not when. The world is changing for the better, my friend.

The world is a messed up place. But it always has been. Look at the long history of violence throughout the ages. The slaughter and wars and barbarism.

The wars today seem "different"? but we still have them and people still die. There are still people who like to hurt others.

That doesn't mean we should lay down and give up though. We have to combat evil whenever we can, otherwise it wins. You could say that evil needs good and vice versa, else one cannot exist without the other and it would have to be called something different. We all have a mission here...

I don't know what a world forever triumphing over evil would look like? Heaven? Or vice versa - hell? Well, keep fighting it... but even if you don't, someone else will, there might be balance either way...

I think evil is to good as decay is to growth. They need each other. From decay comes life, from life comes decay. Sooner or later, everything becomes its opposite and the cycle starts anew.

There is evil and it must be recognized. It cannot be completely destroyed because it is integral to the existence of good.

No it's not. You don't define a quality with it's opposite, nor do you define a quality because of it's opposite. You can completely eliminate the term, "evil," and you can still have a sliding scale of goodness.

It's all point of view though. That sliding scale of goodness may be EVIL to some, while GOOD to you.

And, I find it hard to define light without dark and vice versa. If someone has been blind since birth and all they have seen is an endless black, how would they imagine light, let alone color?
