Now get back on topic and look up the definition of troll army. The addition of army to troll implies organization.

I was having a look around and saw this. I'm not sure what it means. Will someone open this? I tried to copy some of the text but it won't let me. ATS is mentioned. Not specifically about Russia, but shills in general. Is it about ATS ridding itself of shills? Sorry, I'm confused.

I believe I am on topic ... specifically "Troll Army" can refer to any group of paid trolls ... they work for all governments and corporations ... Some advertising could also be deemed as Trolling ...

I know the OP is on the subject of Russian Trolls but in speaking of Russian Trolls ... we should also be even handed and speak of other Trolls such as UK or USA or China ... The newspaper article could be said to be biased and Anti Russian other wise.

It is like saying a flower blooms in one country without mentioning it also blooms in other country's ... giving the mis conception that the flower is unique to the one country ...

I can agree other countries have trolls. But the Russian trolls are far more prevalent and far more organized.

Well I guess going into other forms of propaganda is getting a bit off topic . I guess even trolls other then Kremlin types specifically can be considered off topic . I haven't seen the coordinated description in the op here on the ats board .Seen some hackey stuff from both sides though .

Russian trolls, so what

I dont live in the US but there seems to be an organised troll army on our televisions every night saying how wonderful Obama is, how wonderful and economically powerful the US is and then I come here and read what I suppose could be the truth

I have MSM trolls

I guess every country does it to a degree and its something we should be aware of, seriously though does anyone think that someone telling others how good a politician is, is not a troll.

Poly means many Tics are blood sucking parasite

The problem is I've been reading about them since 2009. Google is your friend you can look up multiple sources .

They're fanatical about Vladimir Putin. They've painted murals in Russian cities and created patriotic textbooks for kids. And one local newspaper even called them Jehovah's Witnesses-style believers dedicated to spreading Putin's word.

Here you go more than just a blog...

www.forbes.com...

www.bbc.com...

And the fact that RT is defending them shows it is true, as they are the Kremlin mouthpiece and will not let anything that makes the government look bad go unattended.

I say that because you don't see a news source here in the US doing a piece that defends internet trolls do you, and have you ever wondered why that is?

".... bloggers allegedly paid by the state ...."

This is a key line in one of your links ... allegedly
Meaning alleged ... but also not proven

Russia and the West are at odds politically ... All lie to some extent or another ...

I understand what you mean, but I think the Russians are much better at propaganda wars than the West. So if you stack up 400 trolls in every country I put the Russians high up on the abilities scale comparatively. If that matters at all.

Eventually I suspect there will be complex IP filters required with updated databases to weed out this garbage...much like PeerBlock.
