Let´s talk about Russia(ussr) wars on soil of other countries, even neighboring countries. Sorry but it´s not pretty. So it is US fault if there has not been many wars ( excluding their civil wars ) in their soil ?

Let´s talk about territorial evolution since 1940 and let´s compare territorial claims and actions Russia(ussr) and US has made from that time to this time.. Let´s find out who has been more aggressive for expanding their borders.. Do you have an answer ?

These countries were not part of the USSR.

I never said they were. They were occupied by Soviet troops and armor. The big Cold War issue since the dropping of the Iron Curtain across Europe after WWII.

You can deny the border, the barb wire and the mines, but really these nations were held prisoner by the Soviet State, ostensibly to protect the Soviet Union from encroachment ever again. You see Russia were invaded twice by Germans last century during two conflicts called WWI and WWII.

Now NATO encroaches Russias borders, "Joint" exercises being held in Latvia and Estonia just this past week.

What was it Jimmy Carter said, something along the lines of "we cant be the nation to preace peace and sell them the guns at the same time".

Maybe not those exact words but you get the drift

I wonder how many of those countries the US has been at war with are now claimed as American territory.
I also wonder how many nations Russia has been at war with exclusively to expand Russian territory.

That's the kicker.

American doesn't expand its territory.

Russia always takes what it can claim, because the single largest country on earth by far just isn't enough.

exactly my point
like I think most of u here are guys
and you see two woman raging in a fight
u don't push one away by holding her neck and gently push the other one aside
that is the situation here in Ukraine
u need to lead by example and say both sides fighting are emotionally charged people and currently not thinking straight
and equally be a buffer in a conflict
it is like offering one of the woman a glass bottle so she can smash it on the other one
like come on

Er, did you even look at the link?

An economy the same size as Itlay, despite being many times larger in terms of both landmass, resources and population.

Inflation is at 17%!

Service sector accounts for 58% of GDP - this is usually the first to be hit when times are tough (ie, high inflation, sanctions etc)

An average salary of £345!

And (not shown in your link) but they are now technically in recession with GDP growth predicted @ -4% for 2105, not to mention the massive capital flight (well over $100 Billion) and them being downgraded to "junk" status.

That is a weak economy....

Actually, you did:

Russia is regarded as the inheritor state and the USSR was dominated by Russia throughout it's entire history.

Besides the Union of Soviet Socialist "Republics" included the "Warsaw Pact" nations. Akin to NATO, who now occupies Eastern Europe instead, the Warsaw Pact is defunct.

Oh, NATO isn't "occupying" anywhere.

Er, I'm not denying any of that - if anything, you're just confirming what I was saying. They were all dominated by a Russian led Government, formed in a nation from the ashes of the Russian Empire.

At one point, even Russia was being courted for NATO, but they declined and went their own way. Other countries are free to make their own choices and felt joining NATO was a good thing for them - this has nothing to do with Russia and in fact Russia's belligerence is only making them feel like they made the right choice. If Russia wasn't a mafia state, interfering with and attacking it's neighbours, then NATO would be defunct.

As for the exercises, you are of course aware they are being held to reassure the Allies that NATO has their back because of Russian actions. If Russia wasn't flying bombers into their airspace with transponders off, or sending Warships or submarines to bother NATO countries, they wouldn't be feeling threatened.

You pre-Russia lot seem to have your heads on backwards. It is Russia's actions which are causing the friction, not NATO antagonising Russia. It's almost like the entire nation has some sort of inferiority complex and - like a bully in the playground - takes out it's frustrations on the smaller, weaker kids nearby. Now the big brother has turned up to protect the little ones, they now have the cheek to protest at them being there when they wouldn't be if Russia wasn't behaving like a total douchebag.

Likewise, Russia should leave Ukraine to Ukraine... See how that works? Maybe then they wouldn't be getting flushed down the economic toilet.

Oh, the irony.

And? Russians chose Putin - Ukrainians did not - nor for that matter did the Georgians or any of the other "frozen conflicts" he has stirred up around the region

That's not what I said - it is an economic indicator and not a very good one. It was in response to you saying Russia wasn't economically weak - it is. If anything, it is the staggering corruption, piss poor management and general disarray in Russia which causes the low wages.
