& did you see that chart? We spend a lot on the military, why would anyone not part of North America try to stand up for Mexico? Especially with Russia's international precedence setting (lol)

Not sure how old are you and where actually you come from, some of your replies are not really making any sense. You say you were watching how Russia rolled into Czechoslovakia ( that was 1968 ), you say you are ethnic russian ( partly? ) and Romanian, living in Australia.. or was it somewhere else ?

I doubt that would ever really work in Ukraine. Too recent history of russification not enough time from forced famine which killed about 7 million people in Ukraine by Stalin, when grain farmed in Ukraine didn´t feed Ukrainian people but was transported to feed russians. I doubt they ever find peace within their borders when they have the sad facts in the back of their heads. Do you believe Ukrainians can forgive the actions Russia( ussr) has made against them, can they ever forgive the loss of 7 million people ?

Finland has much longer history than that tho, what you did here is like underlining and showing that Finland indeed was under Russian rule ( as an autonomous country , which you left out from your text/ sarcasm ) for 100 years, it was also under rule of Sweden for 600 years.

What is your point? Showing some kind of proof that Finland belongs to Russia?

As a citizen of a country that used to be a part both WP and NATO, that what you said - bull****. Very far analogy - in Warsaw Pact were just vassal state countries conquered by the SU, that could not leave. (Like Hungary in 1956, or Czechoslovakia in 1968). On the other hand NATO is a voluntary coalition, where for example French under de Gaule could have told "yanks go home".

You forgot Poland and Romania. Those were uprisings squashed by the puppet states with the help of Soviet armor. Different era, and I agree completely different tactics. Weapons have changed, now with electronic money and eternal debt, economic warfare is used as leverage instead of divisions of tanks. Plus advanced surveillance, satellite and cruise missiles, far different arena.

I agree though nothing so brutal as the communist state in Eastern Europe under the Soviets. But thats over, now NATO is filling the vacuum. Ask Eastern Ukrainians what they think of the US, EU (NATO) encroachment, and the Junta thugs in Kiev.

I selected the most blatant ones, which can not be claimed being internal conflicts.

I'd say that Russians work quite fine with their absolutely conventional mercenaries in East Ukraine. It is rather West who don't want to escalate war so instead decided to test Russian economic power.

I'd not say that NATO is filling "vacuum". If there was really "vacuum" in the region, then it would be mostly unattractive because of no real application of USA protection. It was perceived more as a chance to get a way of permanently keeping Russians out.

Opinion in East Ukraine? Russian had to sent plenty of their mercenaries to get there something pretending being insurgency. Over 90% people - don't care whether are in Russia or Ukraine. Already considered the whole EU idea as weird, and after watching Putin TV may consider it as awful. (but there is also a huge generation difference)
