That's good, I'm sure the ukranians thought the same thing until Crimea was taken, it's alright, another Serbian war and well be saving your family once again from just eating soup and bread and being terrorized by a dictator, or who knows maybe we'll wise up and just let you suffer because we can't afford to play hero anymore, but hey if that's what your into move to Russia and stop trying to get the opinion of the US from one person. once again how did you save me from eating soup and bread after communism collapsed. it is a metter of standard of living . did I mentioned communism gave us a flat we never paid for yet we cashed in when we sold it?
I explain this by comparing it to how it works in my country
My country is boardering Hungary . And I live near Hungary boarder. Historicaly my country always had Hungarian native people almost 30-40% of us(not me) can speak Hungarian . Even our government has 30-40% of seats are a Hungarian political party. Living in my town I often got pissed of that my town opened a Hungarian school and when I went to shop I used to get pissed of I was first greated in hungarian . now imagine that one day my country has has to decide wether it wants to become part of Europien union or remain as is. Hystoricaly many would want to remain having closer ties with Hungary people like me being pissed of would want to became europe . many would remain undecided as it is hard to tell. decisions decisions ate being evaluated. Meanwhile in my city I chuck a hisifit saying stuff like go back home to ur country blah blah yet I am being just "rasist(or what ever i can be called) because this people lived in my town same years as mine. you can see how a riot can start in my town. this does not mean that the Hungarian president is responsible for this. it only sounds like that because I my hate speech was something like go back to ur president etc etc. I have no right to say that or try to push Hungarian origin citizen out of my country. if I attacked them and I get aggresive I see how they would turn to Hungarian president and ask for help.

Accepted, I understand why your curious and I do not believe Russia would attack Ukraine there about 50/50 Russian/Ukrainian and used to be one country. If anything I believe they are engaging clandestine forces in Ukraine nothing more.

This time Russia happened to get hit with some minor santions for doing it and had the fact their economy is so weak exposed. Add to that the drop in oil prices, lies to the families of Russians soldiers killed in Ukraine, a junk rating on the Ruble, huge price rises and Russia has enough to worrry about without starting a war they are completely unprepared for against an enemy that vastly out numbers them on the ground, air, and sea and has better technology and training. What you are seeing is the final death of Russia as a world power.

Excuse me for being cynical, but people have been predicting imminent WW3 for years. If it's not this, then it's that.

I have seen no evidence to suggest these rolling predictions will come to anything, let alone WW3.

Our history with Russia up until after WW2 was for the most part one of peace. Russia had worked with us on several things.
