This is becoming a little tiresome now.

There's still no actual evidence of any Russian embassy being emptied.
There's still no evidence of this fictitious Tweet supposedly reporting a coming announcement.

And yet, here we all are, discussing things that are not real as if they're entirely proven.
It's disappointing to me. I remember a time when people here would actually look at sources, trace them back, find the source and present it, or dismiss it, rather than simply accept it as being valid.

Anyone else remember those days? Oh how I miss them!

I guess you also failed to read my OP where I put disclaimers in. If you don't like it then why are you posting or even reading about it? Are you just one of those that has to give your opinion on something to feel better?

Either way, I clearly stated in the very first post that this was from a tweet and I did not know the validity. The fact is that something IS going on at the Kremlin and the post about the London Embassy has not been disproven....as you keep claiming. So your argument is as valid as the OP....may as well be a post on a conspiracy forum....oh....wait....it is.

So because I prefer to see evidence of something my opinion is not valid?
Are only those who support your opinions permitted to discuss something on a forum?
Why are you so threatened by the suggestion that someone might have a difference of opinion?

Like it or not, this is a discussion forum, and we are discussing what is potentially happening in Moscow right now, and you are not the only one whose opinion is worthy of being seen.

The notion that I should just "shut up and go away" for daring to not believe something that's not been proven is arrogant in the extreme.

I have an opinion, and I have expressed it, I have just as much right as you to do so.
I'm sorry if you feel offended by my reluctance to tow the conspiracy line and simply accept unconfirmed reports, but I'm not going to just accept what some believe because they demand I do so.

Idon't feel offended about anything at all. I was saying that your argument is a silly one since I clearly stated in the very first post that I did not know the validity of the claim.

I guess you decided that was what you would hinge an argument on? But somehow failed to make any other point outside of the validity of a claim, which as I have already stated, was pointed out in the very first post.

Are you just here for reiterating of that point or are you actually bringing something new to it?

Either way, it really doesn't matter to me at all....as I said before and will say again, read the very first post....I was VERY clear about where the info came from and why I believe there is something to think about in it. I did some research and posted on it with a very clear disclaimer. It's a conspiracy site....this would be under the general conspiracy forum. It would appear you would like general conspiracies to either be true or false....so go through every post in this forum and please let me know which ones are valid so I don't need to wade through and decide for myself......

Could anybody update me if this is actually true or not? I've read a few posts here and there, I don't wanna read all 13 pages of the thread just for this to be someone from 4chan getting their lulz. Is there any merit to this story?

Appreciated

I've read through and been keeping track of the thread. Nothing certain as to where Putin is (My best guess is he discovered the time sucks that are ATS or KSP), but something does appear to be mobilizing in Red Square. Stages are being erected, press told to stay nearby, etc...

At pressent it's all speculation but it is looking unlikely that the story is true.

I would imagine someone would have become aware after the amount of time that has passed given the current situation.

Yeah, it looking like the bit of the embassy in London is untrue. I believe a few members bit the bullet and called, which was mentioned a few times in the thread. However, it's the weekend so perhaps a lot of them did clear out.... and will return on Monday morning.

Or they don't know anything at all and the defense attaches said they are going on vacation. Plausible and undeniable.

Cheers for the replies guys, honestly after searching the net it looks like a rumor made up. No doubt something is happening in Russia with Vladamir's absence but the embassy story is looking like bunk.

The trucks in Red Square are just prepping for the 1 year reunification with Crimea celebration. Planned event. Was very dramatic however!!!

Putin does have a flair for the dramatic, doesn't he. If he wasn't the undisputed leader of a global superpower he would probably have had a great career as a theatre director.

I'm not sure of this source, but it says Putin will be removed from power in the next few days. According to the article he will resign and "the power will be taken by a group of officers and security forces led by the head of the presidential administration Sergey Ivanov."

Illarionov: Putin to be removed from power in the next few days

Source

A sudden and mysterious disappearance of Vladimir Putin gave rise to many rumors and versions. Former presidential adviser, Andrey Illarionov reports that in a few days it will be announced about the resignation of Vladimir Putin and the power will be taken by a group of officers and security forces led by the head of the presidential administration Sergey Ivanov.

My guess .. Putin has been made an offer he can't refuse..

Hopefully some officers with some balls have put an end to Putin's
reminiscing for the old republic.

It's about time.. he was crashing Russia.

I've read the same. This Illarionov is really getting the word out there! He is literally the only source with a name to this story.

I'm still doubting it.

Actually if some officers and Ivanov are taking over then they are even more hard liners than Putin. Hard to imagine, but yes, they are. They would be more inclined to march 50,000 into Ukraine tomorrow.

If we were to assume this is true for a moment, can anyone speculate as to what the implications would be? Would this escalate the situation in Ukraine, worsen relations with the U.S. etc?

ETA- I see noeltrotsky answered some of it before I saw the post!

As much as I'd love to watch live video of Obama being drug out of the white house kicking and screaming and throwing a temper tantrum, for many reasons that would derail the thread, I'd be afraid of what would replace him...

President Biden after his appointment, "This is a big f-ing deal."

We discussed that at lenght earlier, the number is on page 2 or 3 if you want to give them a bell.

Read the thread first though.
