Here are a few bands that not many know or care to know, but please enjoy.

Stuff I jam in my personal time...

And just a sample of the kind of music I love to spin...

Well, the worst is yet to come! The last real cold spell in AK was at the end of the eighties (really!) which is why I left the whole state in first place to BD's neighborhood. So we are forecast to go up to another -10 C for few days this weekend. GAH! Ah, but such good times from around then! Good music memories. Like...

Shriekback - Nemesis

Wandering around the floor of the desert cranking alternative music on the AM radio! Ah, the good old days. I will try to keep those warms thoughts with me through out the upcoming weekend. At least it is not like Northern Cali where they are being flooded out!

Hope the Siberian artic air does not move west and sink that low!

PS - I love the word "parthenogenesis" lol...

Hi all! Sorry, didn't see you there! I was too busy conversing and being too proud to talk to you anyway! hehe

Welcome to Baddogma's thread! I haven't seen our host around in a few but last I heard he was busy in RL and lurking on ATS when he could.

Welcome to ATS SkinnySteve!! Nice one kibric I dig the blues (along with almost anything else except new school country) and Blind Willie Johnson is right up there with Mississippi John Hurt in my book of favs! Jungian, I will have to check them out! Anybody with more than good song is cool by me.

And to magically transport you back to page one...

Meat Puppets - Aurora Borealis

A nice little musical interlude...

Agreed... and fine stand-in hosting, sir!

Nirvana , heh ... my cohorts, being musical elitists, denigrate Nirvana as psuedo- punk pop dross... but eff 'em! Just because they made it big doesn't de-legitimize their very real talent, heh.

Thanks for the new entries from the newbies (and old bees) ... truth be told, gonna listen to them now and throw a star at the "good stuff" ...

now, here is a very famous piece that might be one of the most sampled efforts ever... LIPPS INC - Funkytown

Bd!!!

Nice to see you.

It is your thread and I would never tell what is what and all... but that is twice now for Lips Inc!!

Not sure how to link a song in from my not so dumb phone...

But the tune Roof With A Hole In It has reinserted itself into the brain. I love the Meat Puppets!!

And you of course you... nice to see you around!

[u-tube vid here if I could]

This song always gives me Gigeresque flashbacks.

Heh, as far as the repeated vid, I was forced to repeat as there are only so many 70's disco-esque hits to exhume with enough empty electromagnetic cogno-frequencies able to carry the compressed beta waves so the NSA could descramble the embedded info in certain vids revealing the trail of the AI quantum computer who is rewriting reality for it's own nefarious ends and PETA...

OR I am absent minded and silly in my incipient dotage ... but thanks for that passively aggressive rebuke, TEOT ... I'm off to write morose poetry about this, now.

Hugs.

But before I start scribbling my disparate version of The Bell Jar, I gotta say ... wumscut was some fine daemon-techno (my name for Gigeresque techno shuffle). Thanks for the contribution ... and that goes for all the entries above... with assorted descriptors.

Hmm, yes, parthenogenesis is a good one. I managed to slip 'obfuscate' into a report today, I was mighty pleased.

How's your weather doing?

Hello, good sir... as a thematic answer to your "let's move to L.A." entry, I'll reply with this old punk ditty about gettin' the hell outta there...

X - Los Angeles

And X is playing in their original lineup here next month... got a kiss and my first beer from Exene Cervenka when I was 15 at an X show... I recommend it to anyone.
