I agree that this problem needs to be solved. Torturing, burning, hanging (and whatever sadistic need you have) them is not the answer. It will not solve the problem.

I have no NEED for anything, why do you want to defend people who torture children? That is warped. You pacifists need to wake up. We tried it your way, but = Epic Failure is the result.

Eliminating all violent criminals will not stop the problem.

Well it's a good start for wiping out there blood lines from the human gene pool. ~$heopleNation

It's strange that you think I want to defend them?

Let's just agree to disagree

So, please clear something up for me...

1. Who wants people punished before a trial and who doesn't?

I support due process.

2. Who wants people convicted of child molestation to not walk the earth anymore?

With DNA evidence, Me. ~$heopleNation

I dont judge people like this woman. She has the right of a mother to punish the one who hurt her defenceless daughter.

I say thank you to her. One less.

One less what..?

One less "potential", child molester..?

So anyone who is accused of the crime should be put to death without any kind of defence..?

Reason I am saying this is because not every person "accused" of a crime is guilty.

I had a friend who was the victim of a young woman telling tales for attention. Word got around (the law was never involved), through rumors and Chinese whispers until some men (supposedly to avenge the poor girl who got raped, someone they didn't even know but had just heard about), and beat this man almost to death.

Everyone, guilty or not, is entitled to a trial by law to establish guilt or innocence, not the public..!!

So you're going to leave the laws up to the police? Knowing police men these days they'd have barged into the house and shot all 3 people and then get a slap in the wrist. Trust the jury ? No! Lawyers are so tricky and crafty they can send a fully guilty person home.. I don't know the circumstances, but if he was actually caught in the act? I applaud the woman.

Vigilantism is starting to be the only answer.. There's no one with a higher code than the average civilian to answer to. Am I encouraging it? No. Am I fully understanding it as one of the only directions some people can take? Yes.

Why do some people in this thread use the tired old straw man argument?

No it has never been the answer. If there's corruption in the police force and the government, then we will fight them and make changes. Vigilantism certainly won't change anything and will only make things worse and will plunge our society into chaos.

I think child molesters should be lit on fire, have it blown out, heal a bit and lit again, over and over until their body kills them off.

They do not just KILL their victims, the victim is tortured for the rest of their lives....all potential destroyed, they also usually attract harsh abusers for the rest of their lives as well, they give their victim much more than any life sentence they could have in a prison....

and most of the time A MOTHER KNOWS when their child is telling the truth, A mother knows their child.... and they usually know the person they are married to and if their was any shadow of a doubt..... she also knew he would get a nice new free living lifestyle in jail at the very most, while he gets to still sit their fantasizing in his sick mind..... no skin off his back in there....

I feel like I need to go be sick now...... I am shaking mad that some are thinking she did anything wrong.

Though I could never do anything like this myself, what she did was justified in my mind....even if he dies, she will still never escape him, even when he is in the grave.

But she did. She became a judge, jury and executioner.

Also you don't even think about the arson charge she's facing? Why?

By setting a fire in her home (doesn't say if it was an apt or her house) she is RISKING others' lives, INCLUDING children.

Aha found the article. They lived in an apt.

Vincent Phillips, 52, was doused in gas and set aflame by his wife at their Renton, Wash., apartment on July 17. He's now facing child molestation charges after his wife claimed he assaulted her daughter.

Linky

An apartment!!!!!! By setting fire in an apt she was risking others' lives INCLUDING children!!!!

Change your mind yet?

Like I said I never could/would do something like that, but I could understand her rage, I think it would be temporary insanity.....

I don;t think she could think about those facts, and we don't know that the child was home, no one in their right mind would light a house on fire with a child at home..... see my point?

I blame him for the fire too, for doing something SOOOO sick and horrid it led this woman to such an insane response, one that she could probably not even see around from the blind rage that would induce...

She does not need punishment either, she will never have a torture free moment for the rest of HER life either, knowing what happened to her daughter.... she needs therapy, not punishment.

I see your point. People do have breaking points.

Though we do not know all the facts till they are sorted out in the court.

Like a few posters in this thread have said... it could just be the girl wanting attention (she might hate her step-father). It isn't the first time it happened.

Like they always say.... let the court sort it out lol

Actually wasn't talking about her child. I was talking about other children in other apts.

Awesome. So if I want to utterly destroy an enemy, all I have to do is set him on fire, then afterward claim he is a child molester, and I will have people cheering me on for it.

DNA evidence isn't a cast iron case. That man I mentioned earlier that I knew who was wrongfully accused, his DNA was found on his stepdaughters clothes. Of course it was, he lived in the same house and shared/did the laundry!

And there are many examples of people being wrongfully executed fir crimes they didn't commit and later exonerated post mortem. Too late for them though.

The father is up for 1st degree rape of a minor (his own kid) as I understand it. Surley there is more than DNA eveidence for this to proceed.
I say he got off lightly because he's still alive.
Let the mum go and take care of the child she was defending. If she didn't burn him and he just got the usual punishment he'd only go and do it again.......like all peados do........to another kid.
If you think the law adequately punishes these child abusers (kiddie fiddlers to some) you are sadly mistaken. They are kept amongst themselves and protected from other prisoners. I resent paying taxes to keep them alive.
Emotions are at the extreme when your child is assaulted especially sexually, so when a parent reacts violently to an abuser it's very sad to hear some say the law should deal with them. Huk that! If it were my child, I'd commit violent acts for retributions sake & willing pay the price.

If I was on the jury, I would acquit. The abuser is human garbage and what she did is justice. Sorry, but the law enforcement system cannot adequately punish sexual assualts in general and specifically the cruel and unusual clause should be revocable in the case of a child of sexual. But realistically, that cannot happen in the judicial system. Jury nullification is the only option here. Not guilty of murder and along with her release she should be given a medal.

What a tragedy. Not only did she get molested, but now her mother may be going to jail as well. Everyone else has already said what my thoughts are on this story. The only thing I want to add is that I think child molestation should hold more severe penalty's. Literally, I believe these people deserve a life sentence/death penalty. They are ruining the life of someone, so why shouldn't the guilty have theirs taken?

If I knew for a fact that someone molested my child, I'm unsure what I would do. I do know that the courts wouldn't be the first to punish them though. Prayers for the child.
