We haven't always had those features.

Members who did most of their posting before those features were introduced will have "stats" that appear to be strangely low.

It hasn't seemed that simple to me. I am pretty much positive I have had threads removed in which I did not discuss personal use of drugs.

So let me just ask moderation, point blank. So long as we don't discuss specific personal use, are we allowed to openly talk about false beliefs about certain drugs, misconceptions about altering consciousness itself, irrationality of its taboo and the resulting legal policies, and like topics? Well actually, I know for a fact that it censors out the names of non-cannabis drugs, so I can't mention specific drugs which people have mis-conceptions about. So there's that. But the term psychedelic would suffice, so long as that can be used without censorship. This is a class of drugs which is completely misunderstood, and false beliefs about them run rampant. It would technically be safer to be able to be more specific, but clearly the specifics get censored out, but psychedelic is a reasonable term for the class of drugs which it is important to dispel misunderstandings about.

If I can openly discuss what I've been getting at in this and my previous post, so long as I don't discuss personal use, I would be happy in that regard. I don't believe that has been my experience. But if that is now the policy, then fantastic.

I think his comment was directed at me. As you can see, my post was censored as expected. I feel bad for anyone who hasn't experienced something simply because the government classifies it as a Class 1 narcotic.

You're my favourite poster on ATS man. Love your posts exposing the hypocrisy and draconian laws surrounding drugs. I gave up trying to discuss it after being censored repeatedly.

I hear you my friend and recall the older ATS in my early days and other veteran posters.

I too came here from searching on the then less restricted (ad bloated) internet and it was fun back then because real ideas were thrown about but now ATS just comes across as a anti-Islamic Christian hippie website that is full of shills and people who simply do not do the type of research the old dogs did on here.

Yes some posts were ludicrous but the authors had put some effort in even if they were mostly influenced by whatever high they were on it was all good fun and very cerebral.

I don't get that from ATS anymore, it just feels shallow and empty and people who seem to get consumed by some bitter thread war need to unplug. I did included most other social media services I used to be on in the past and my life is so much better now.

There is less noise and more time to think, deeply, to appreciate what I have and to ponder about things that I dream about. I like to take a dip into the rabbit hole from time to time but I don't venture too far now as I occupy my time with more important things like surviving for as long as I can and being of use to my loved ones.

When there is money involved, there is usually a "say" in what can or cannot be posted displayed. This is true for both TV and the internet. Unfortunately servers, bandwidth, and airtime cost a lot. Talking to your friends and co-workers cannot be filtered...yet.

How many conspiracies has this site revealed since it was created?

To compare an original vision with what is now is like comparing the optimistic ideology of a young mind against the old who has accumulated a life time of biases so that they can only see a bottom line its a business. I think Slayer evolved, he saw Ats going one way and decided he didn't want that path. I think its quite fitting to sign on in that way if you have vested 10 years here.

I have been on this site a couple of years and so don't have any expectations other than what I can see, that if you want the truth don't bother come looking for it here youll never get it, this is another new/entertainment site on the net and on that level its perfectly ok.

You say that if you had stayed here on ATS you would never have gone down the rabbit hole. I say you would not go down the "rabbit hole" anywhere you were going for information if you are not ready for it. Also, thinking that you know anything that is "awakening" or "enlightening" is a tell tale sign of knowing very little. Most people who know what the hell they are talking about and are people with weight to their mind simply dedicate their lives to improvement..... Not cool fads that are popular...like being "awakened" is...

I have never been "awakened". I refuse to use that retarded terminology that social engineers developed. These days the biggest sheep I encounter are the "awakened" people who THINK they know something and proceed to set it in stone in their minds.

This thread is freaking traitorous. It belongs on one of your preferred sites. The fact that the mods and owners left it up shows how open they are and how tolerant. If you tried to post something critical and baseless on another site you would see it taken down and the person banned 9 out of 10 times.

I too have been coming here for some time. What brought me here is not what kept me. I was an idiot then and am probably one today. The thing is I dont praise idiots or give them much credence. I stay for who I want to become. ATS has helped me in more ways than I can even mention.
