Today i start a long path.

I fill out my petition and pay my dues today to get accepted in the Scottish rite temple.

I'm joining for the study and brotherhood and to better my self as a person.

Any tips or recommendations from fellow brothers here on ATS

You will first go through the three degrees of the Blue lodge. Once you are a master mason, you can join the Scottish Rite.
My advice is to figure out what a mason is, what a master mason is, and how you will fit in with all that before you worry about any other groups, like the Scottish Rite or Shrine.

When one of your senses is diminished, use the others to the best of your ability.

Honest question: Does that mean you will be automatically accepted? I didn't think it was that easy to get into the club.

Once you get to the petition stage it is usually a formality as you have two singers that have vouched for you.

There still needs to be a vote but I have only see one person not elected at that point.

They may call the building they work out of a Scottish Rite Temple but you are not joining the Scottish Rite.
