The songs that American guards and interrogators used to torture detainees.

AKA, the Torture Playlist:

Music has been used in American military prisons and on bases to induce sleep deprivation, "prolong capture shock," disorient detainees during interrogations—and also drown out screams. Based on a leaked interrogation log, news reports, and the accounts of soldiers and detainees, here are some of the songs that guards and interrogators chose. Read about the guards here.

Deicide: # Your God

Dope: Die MF Die, Take Your Best Shot

Eminem: White America, Kim

Barney & Friends: theme song

Drowning Pool: Bodies

Metallica: Enter Sandman

Meow Mix: commercial jingle

Janeane Garofalo/Ben Stiller: chapter from the Feel This Audiobook

Sesame Street: theme song

David Gray: Babylon

AC/DC: Shoot to Thrill, Hell's Bells

Bee Gees: Stayin' Alive

Tupac: All Eyez On Me

Christina Aguilera: Dirrty

Neil Diamond: America

Rage Against the Machine: unspecified songs

Don McLean: American Pie

Saliva: Click Click Boom

Matchbox Twenty: Cold

(hed)pe: Swan Dive

Prince: Raspberry Beret

No Rush?! Geddy's voice can be torture in a prolonged setting... We all had that friend, you know the guy... played Tom Sawyer, and Modern Music(whatever that damn song is called) on a loop for like 7 months straight

Most torturous song of ALL time, and I am dating myself here,...

Tiny Tim's Tiptoe Through The Tulips.

I am pretty sure I'd give you the combo to the SCIF if you played "This is the song that doesn't end" long enough.

Behold. If you have a strong stomach.

Or this. This is worse. Warning: earworm, possible seizure hazard

Anything loud enough is torturous.

Gun fire and bombs exploding not withstanding.

Personally, I'm wondering why they didn't do this:

Yep. Here's your chance to be a whistle blower!

I hear they make whistle blowers listen to this so it's a win/win for you.

They could have dropped them all and just used the Barney theme song. I never let my daughter watch that show as it made me want to claw my eyes out and pierce my eardrums with rusty safety pins whenever I heard it.

Not sure where we were operating from..
But my personal favorite..
Panama, by Van Halen!

And as today is my 41st birthday....
My friends keep replaying "Death clocks" happy birthday....

So. In my opinion... if you replay a song over and over.
It becomes a psychological melt down.
You hate it ,and it will stink.. driving you crazy and out of the rock you're under.

Elysian Fields!... why Megadeth didn't make the cut is insulting. No.. it's not...
Barry Manilow in a trapped elevator would kill me.

Hey op? Any reason to why just those songs?

I like 6 from the list. The barney one would be torture. I was surprised not to see rap. If you want to torture me, that's the crap to use. I hate rap.

About 65% of those would make me spill the beans.

I thought they used some FFDP too.

If I never hear Barney again it'll be too soon. Yeah I'd give them state secrets and slit my own wrists if they used that.
