We could at least fix the corrupt legal system, I think that's what people are getting at.
97% of people in jail are there on plea bargains, not as a result of a genuine conviction after a trial.
What's due process again?

It's a great game they play... you go to a preliminary hearing facing three charges... they offer you a plea down to one that is lesser offense... if you don't take the plea they double the charges and take it to trial... which costs more money than most have to fight... if you used these tactics in "real life" it'd be called extortion... but when the "good guys" do it it's called "crime fighting"...

I know of no officers who "want" this type of setup. I also know of no police agency that has anything even remotely close to whats in the article.
Your claim is a perfect example of the us verse them mentality. You assume all law enforcement is the same, attack them and then complain they dont trust the people.
How can they trust individuals when those individuals think all law enforcement is evil?

Here is a novel suggestion -
Before grabbing the pitchforks and torches maybe some investigations should be done to verify the accuracy / legitimacy of the claims.

The "secret prisons" described in the History Channel softball treatment are federally managed detention centers, and not really that "secret."
The rendition sites of which I spoke in the opening post have been established by regional law enforcement, ranging from state police departments to city police departments.

Defund departments. Pull the plug before it's too late.
There's an easy way to accomplish that... stop committing crimes.

And the steady anti-US rhetoric goes on.
Get rid of police? That would fit fully with the real conspiracy of anarchists at work in the US.

This is the previously secret Memorandum of Understanding between the Hudson River Park Trust and the NYPD, granting the NYPD the use of the infamous Pier 57 as a "holding center" during the Republican National Convention.
Until the complaints and FOIA request, Pier 57 was used after the convention, for several months, as a clandestine location for the abuse of suspects.

...and exactly where does it say that Pier 40 or 57 will be used to illegally detain American civilians?
In fact, the document you posted states specifically that the site(s) will NOT be used as a secondary arrest and detention center...
but, keep stroking yourself in the wet dream.
...and, the Hudson River Trust is a private entity. How exactly would the big bad NYPD keep the detention of American civilians, in contravention of U.S. law, SECRET?!
Maybe they've conspired with the Sanitation Dept. with whom NYPD was required to contract in order to clean up the trash?

What's even more insidious is we have these things glorified in movies and on TV.
