With things like this ISIS video of them burning that pilot alive, like that poor girl who was burned alive by her boyfriend and this lady who abort her baby because it was male I am so disgusted by our actions that i want no part of this world anymore.

I am caught between wanting to live a happy and fun life but i am also sickened and maddened by the atrocities that humanity commits against itself in the name of religion and capitalism.

I see things happening like this and i have to ask myself whats really worth living for? Should i be trying to pursue financial interests and selfishly trying to make money so that me and my family can have a happy life or should i only focus on developing my spiritual self and focus on the next world?

Its entities like ISIS that ensure my perspective that there really is some spiritual unseen evil in this world influencing events by gaining control over people through their ego's. I dont know if its Satan or Lucifer or Jesus, I have no idea. This world seems to serve as some sort of proving grounds wherein you can earn place in the greater cosmic being as a lower or higher form of consciousness. This has to be true, i hope it is, i hope there is a heaven so people like the pilot and the girl can experience glory and love and that the people who did that to them experience the totality of loneliness and burn in an eternal fire. These events make me want to be a Christian, i want these things to be real so i can have assurance that these scum pay and the victims receive true rewards.

The millions of acts of random kindness that happen everyday kutweigh the evil we can do.
I remember this and see many every day in work and in public.
Don't lose hope dude.

Evil has always happened. So has good. But yeah, evil does run the show, at least the shadowy evil elements. All the good doesn't negate the needless deaths, suffering that occurs because of it. Bad is seen as good in the eyes of the public, we emulate the worst of the worst through songs and imagery.

All I can suggest is to keep on going despite all the negativity and try to brighten the corner of the world that you're in. I don't know what else to say.

Speaking from my own reality tunnel, of having spent time in other second and third world parts of the globe where violence seems to be the ruling order of the day, I can certainly empathize with your above thoughts. Yet, when I am back home living in a first world nation, I remind myself this: my immediate reality takes precedence over external information. In other words: have you witnessed with your own eyes today any of these things you listed that are causing you concern?

This does not mean we should become apathetic; it just means that when we turn to face the sun, the shadows fall behind us. It is facing that direction all solutions will be found. To dwell on negativity is to breed more of it --The same can be said for positivity..

How we see the world says more about us than the world...

Do your part, no matter how little it may seem, to make the world a better place. Go beyond words.

IMHO, yes, it is.

And it all appears to be coming to head.

I just pray many see the truth as it unfolds as was foretold. It is never to late to change your mind, unless you are killed in foretold events.

It makes all this petty bickering we do over nonsense on this website seem childish at times.

But change starts as an idea first.

You don't need to be a Christian to believe that there is an Afterlife befitting the actions of people in all walks of Life.

I think it's a fallacy to believe we came from nothing, on a pile of dirt, that happened to exist in an coincidental Solar System, of an accidental Universe...

I also think it's a fallacy to add to all that and say a life long murdering paedophile who never pays for their crimes will have the same fate as the children they abused and killed...

& nothing would convince me otherwise...
Religious or not.

& that's what keeps me borderline sane for now...

Otherwise I'd have put a bullet in my temple a couple of years ago.

Being Christian, or becoming one doesn't change what is...

Yes, there is an "evil" spiritual something that rules this world...

Its been known since Christ walked the earth, probably before that as well... and the few that tried to bring that knowledge to light were exterminated

theres nothing anyone can do about it... and its only going to get worse as time goes on...

Walk your path... stick to what is good, and you will come out clean on the other side

Indulge me. Whether you are Christian or not, believe in the end times or not, there is still wisdom here that pertains to your state of mind.

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24: 12-13

You perceive the increase of wickedness around you and it wants to make your heart harden. Don't let it. If your own love goes out then the evil you see has increased that much more. Stand firm. Don't let it win. The only thing that evil needs to win is for good men to do nothing.

Evil does exist, as does good.

Something something darkside. Something something complete.

Definitely, but we gotta keep that passion...

Rather than turning into a bunch of robots, no matter how infinitesimal it may be to the bigger picture.

imo.

Why not go against the norm and create some life? Like if life can be expendable as a resource. Then creating life in some way is creating Wealth.

Maybe there should be more ambition for Agriculture. How can you stop a lot of the problems in the world well i guess you could fighting what you think is the root of corruption but there's so many people aiding in it its going to be hard to influence in such a way. But its not impossible.

Or you could do something that future generations will enjoy. Like this man who digs a tunnel.

One

I for one do not believe in spiritual evil. The examples you cite, along with so many others, to me portrays the "lack" of spiritualness. Not evilness. Even though these crimes may be done in the name of a religion or a belief, to me, they still only portray the lack of true spiritualness.

And One, though I am not a Christian, I hope you can take another look at the statement you made here

These events make me want to be a Christian, i want these things to be real so i can have assurance that these scum pay and the victims receive true rewards.

Should you use payback, or revenge as a reason to become ANYTHING it is, in my opinion, only going to make you what you already hate. I don't know you, all I know of you is some of the things your share with us here, but that path just does not jive with what I have read from you before.

Peace oh little one.

I have been stuck with the same thoughts you're having for a long time now, it's very depressing and things just seem to get worse, I barely have hope anymore if i'm to be honest, there seems to be no collective other than 'screw you i've got mine' and tolerance is non existent.

I know one thing, for me, i'd die a happier man knowing I never fell in line like society wants us to believe we should, I helped when I could, stood up for what feels right, followed my heart, and loved those around me! we should celebrate being human, look after each other, not just think of each other as just a number or disposable, nobody should be hungry in this modern era, nobody should be homeless, nobody should go without water, worship who you want, and respect those who don't.

God, I sound like a new age Hippy or something, but it is what it is I guess.

As for spiritual evil, I don't know? I pray everyday, but I don't know who to? I just feel like something is there, but I don't follow any religion, because so much of it makes no sense, but still I pray because I believe there is more to this life than what we see, and I feel like something is listening when I pray, that's why I say follow your heart, keep your spirit in tact, it's not an easy option, but it sure feels right, to me at least.

Petty bickering is just entertainment for the mind and there is nothing wrong with it, just like there is nothing wrong with creating a post on ATS stating how sickened one is over events taking place in the world just so one can be seen as caring. You may indeed be sickened over worldly affairs, but I can assure you that your degree of being sickened is nowhere remotely as close to those who are actually living these realities without having a voice to speak. I have sat with some of these people and shared similar thoughts others have possessed as you do with them. Their response: Just words - nothing more.

Most on ATS are not policy makers, nor have many actually invested their time and energy to travel to places and serve people who desperately need assistance. Many people, for very good reasons are unable to go beyond words and actually engage in a meaningful way in order to "walk the talk" and create immediate change, therefore, social media rants expressing social concerns that attempt to portray that they too indeed have a "heart" often results in petty bickering. Therefore, you state the obvious.

For myself, I use social media as way of "release", and find that perfectly OK to do so.

The question is: What will you do tomorrow or in the coming days, weeks and months ahead to make an actual difference that go beyond words expressing how much your heart bleeds?

But change starts as an idea first.

Action speaks louder than any idea, thought, or philosophy.
