Massive Donetsk Ukraine Explosion

A massive explosion in Donetsk Ukraine went off just recently. The original thread seems to have been deleted due to inappropriate links.

Some early guesses are an SS-21 Tochka missile, a chemical factory explosion, a Grad weapons depot, thermobaric weapon, a tactical nuke...

It looks like a secondary explosion to me.

There was a whole lot of heavy weapons in use and then the explosion.

I would suggest it may have been a fuel storage for aviation fuel at the airport or similar secondary target.

Alright. well, I think it is a fair point, as someone wrote, that the validity regarding location and time is unconfirmed. critique of sources is always important, especially with stuff like this.

That said, I do not think there is anything pointing towards it being anything else than it claims to be - a big explosion in Donetsk.

There are a few initial explosions that are getting people to turn the cameras that way...and then the big one goes off.

I'm starting to think it was a chemical factory, like a gunpowder production facility or something.

Maybe this topic isn't ok after all...

I would recommend putting 'Ukraine' in the title, it would just be more representative of the situation and people would know how serious it is straight away.

It does not look Nuclear to me in any way. Does look like a nice sized blast though.

I mostly agree, but I did hear a rumor that Ukraine recovered a few tactical nukes that are artillery shells and small yields.

So far I'm going with the ammo production facility. They have been shooting a lot so need more ammo.

While such weapons do exist, it is unlikely they would be in this particular theater as they were largely phased out after the development of ICBM's, and certainly don't exist today in the Russian or U.S arsenals in the form of artillery shells. Additionally, they would light up the countryside like it's daytime even with a relatively small yield.

A nuclear explosion is unmistakable. This is not one (thankfully).

I like the black and white vid...looks like Infra Red to me but I don't have one to play with. Does show a few explosions before the big one.

I did see a twitter post of a Smerch firing and causing this explosion. The multiple landings could be just that...

Russian RT has something, but still different version are named as cause...
